I had Tuff-Country 2" steel leveling kit and Bilstein shocks (front=BE5-2549 rear=BE5-2550)installed yesterday.

The truck is now level. No change in handling or anything else, but I did have them also do a realignment. With 285's it has a slight lifted look and the tire/fender well visual spacing is much improved, especially in the rear.

The Bilstein ride and handling improvement is the best of any shock I've ever had. I have Edelbrock IAS on my 97 Dakota 4x4 along with a Hellwig sway bar, and while these are two very different trucks, the ride improvement of the Bilsteins over stock on the Ram brought a much bigger smile than the Edelbrocks did over Dakota stock. The Bilstein ride is firm and controlled... whatever that means. It just feels right for me.

Glad to hear about the Bilsteins. That looks like my next BOMB. How do they ride compared to stock? How about over railroad tracks? Do they have a track bar available as well?

How much was the leveling kit? I assume that goes in the front end.

The kit is a 2" coil spacer (front). Very high quality parts. Cost was $129. 95

The Bilsteins give me a firmer, but not harsh ride over stock. I've only got 2500 miles on my truck. Truck seems better "connected" to the road with less undulating if that makes sense?? Solid
and firm response over rr tracks. I don't know if they offer a track bar.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I have the same Bilsteins sitting in my garage to replace the Edelbrocks I installed 5K ago. The Edelbrocks were OK new, but after 5K the damping is going fast. Yesterday I counted 4 up-down cycles before the truck settled down after going over my "test" bump on the way home from work #ad
After reading your post I'm gonna make time this weekend to get the Bilsteins in...
