During my annual safety inspection, the man noticed my plate lights weren't working. Turns out one of them had broken off and was dangling under the truck, and the other one was about to break off.

Apparently this is another instance of Dodge going cheap, as they all break. It's a weird plastic that gets kind-of gummy.

I've attempted to 'fix' them by cleaning them with alcohol and using RTV silicon to keep them together. Time will tell if my attempt is successful. And since the silicon spread around, it may be difficult to take them apart again to replace bad bulbs in the future!

Just a warning to check yours. Especially if you live in a state that has mandatory inspections.

My right one broke when i tried to change it. Was all gummy. Tried the silicone, so far so good but not sure for how long.

Same Here.

I had two of them fail by turning into some kind of snot like plastic goo.

I replaced them with OEM replacements from the Dealer, Cost I think was around $13 per light/pigtail.

Doug.

Hope this helps.
