63,000 miles (2003 see signature) and a block away from work my lift pump bites the dust, leaving me to get it started after the 5th try and to only limp to work in 1st gear because it would barely idle. So the dealership calls after I pay to have it towed, $200 later(thought I had towing on insurance?) to tell me the were going to have to keep it until tomorrow. For what you ask? For a new lift pump that will be re-located to the tank. As for symptoms I noticed over the weekend that my pump was noisy and buzzing on occasion. accompanied by a liitle more black smoke than usual. I don't know how this happened since I use Stanadyne Performance formula in every tank. I think maybe this ultra low sulfur diesel is starting to rear its ugly head. From what I read on here I think its time to get some more gauges i. e. fuel presure, rail pressure and a low pressure l. e. d. Kind of a funny story as I was pondering the idea of goin with a GDP-392. Oh well! Does anybody know if they make a kit that will work with the in tank set up?
