I just replaced a lift pump on a buddy's 02' with a Carter pump from BD. the old pump wouldn't run, this one won't either. I can wire 12volt directlyto the pump and it will run and deliver good fuel pressure, but the factory harness wont work?? Is there a fuse or relay anywhere that could be bad?? PLEASE HELP!!

Just checked the relay box (under the hood. . next to the batter) on my '02 and found relay #51... . "fuel system relay". Not sure what it controls but there are several other relays in there with the same part number. Just swap one out and see if you have voltage to the pump.

I believe the transfer pump is powered straight from the ECM with no fuses or relays involved. check to make sure you have good ground at the connector and then you will have to test the wiring back to the ECM. If ground is present and the wiring is ok, then you may have a defective ECM.
