Considering all the work to this point sounds like good idea to take out and have block cleaned up and have walls hone and assemble, at shop that works on diesel engines.

Agreed. Do it once, do it right. It's way more expensive to do it right a second or third time. These engines can be overhauled "in-frame", but I wouldn't ever recommend it especially with bore or crank issues.

Pull the engine and do it right my friend.

Go my built engine today from South Houston Engines. Can't wait to start putting her back together and get this beast on the road. I went with their stage 1 performance long block.
