I had my trans rebuilt about 3 months ago with a goerand v/b and torque converter. Since it started getting warm out my trans will go into limp mode if I drive it for a while. When it's 50 deg. out it takes about an hour of expressway driving. But at 85 deg out yesterday it only took about 20min to do it. It shifts and locks up fine but when you stop it tryes to start in third gear. You can get it to second by manually shifting it. Everything else is fine. I took it to the trans shop and it set the govener pressure code. I had him put a new sensor in to be sure and it didnt help anything. So when I started searching in here about it I came across somthing about a resistor to fool the sensor for when you have an aftermarket v/b. Can some one explain this a little better for me, like what ohm's, where to put it, what it does and where to get one? Any help would be awsome, it's starting to drive me crazy. #@$%!

TIA

Cade,

The first thing to do should have been CALL DAVE!

I dealt with Dave over the phone on the whole thing. He never mentioned the need for it. It is possable that I don't remember because we talked about so much but I don't believe he told me. I will call him tomarrow but it is usually a few days before I actually get to talk to him he is soo busy. If it's something simple or even if it's not I would love some more info on it.

Thanks,

Cade

you need a resistor from radio shack 1/4 watt 100ohm forgot what wire but cut it in half and put the resistor in between them . . my transmission did the samething but i have a suncoast ,, called suncoast they sent me a sheet on how to do it and what part ,,, you could call them ???

Cade,

Its hard to remember everything you talk about after your done. You may want to e-mail Dave so that you have it on screen to print out.

Just think what you will be like after your 60 years old----:-laf

Best of luck with the trans,

Cade,

Where did you get the info?

Did you talk to Dave?

I'm glad you got the repair done.

Tell us how it worked.

Wayne

I havent done it yet. Havent got a hold of dave yet either.

So If I got this straight you go down to radio shack, get a 1/4 watt 100 ohm resistor. Take the wire to pin 31 on the computer cut it and solder the resister inline? Is there a difference on what wire it is through the years or anything like that? Mine is a November 95 built 96, 4x4 if that matters at all. Thanks for the info. If someone can confirm that that is the correct wire on my truck I'll be heding to radio shack. Thanks agian for the help.
