i've had the recall done last year, no problem, but it seems that the pedal linkage is sorta stuck, when i go from a stop, it seems that the pedal will go partially down, then sorta stop , then i have to push down harder on the pedal, then of course it takes off with a cloud of smoke, i've sprayed wd40 on all the linkage couplings, it helped for a week or so, then back again, any

ideas on this.

thanks

dave

WD40 is NOT a lubricant. It is a water displacment formula (the 40th attempt). It evaporates after some time, especially if the place it's used gets warm. Use a lube like LPS #2. You should be able to get LPS at a marine hardware store there in Antioch. If you need a heavier lube use LPS #3.

Blair...

Brentwood Dodge replaced cable last year, this started about 2 months ago, i believe there's 2 recalls on this, if so, both have been done on the truck, same above dealership. .

Joe G...

when i get today, [work graveyard last night] i'll go hunt for the

LPS #2. .

thanks to both of you. .

It is likely the ball stud on the end of the pump linkage near the rear of the injection pump, does it have rusty "residue" coming from it?

The latest recall includes the cable, two ends, and two studs, Part no CANZ9700.

DC advises no lube as it can damage the plastic insert inside the control rod end.

Good luck,

Andy

98rammer. .

well after about 1/2 to 3/4"pedal push, there seems to be

resistance, have to push a little bit harder then it's easy pedal,

but like i said above, then i have a cloud of smoke behind me.

also when the a. c. is on, it's a hard pedal.

finally found some LPS lube, drove all around antioch, found

some at ace hardware... .

dave- sorry for my late reply- i just got my phone hooked up here in my new place.

well, mine's the same way. i get a ton more smoke after i push past that hard point-but then again that's with mods and the starwheel full forward. does your truck do it worse when shut off? if it's the breakover point- then you can actually watch it happen in the injection pump (look down into the plate area).

are you at sea level where you are?
