We purchased a new lawn mower after talking to and looking at some of the posts about lawn machines. The John Deere Zero turn is the machine. The equipment dealer brought it out late this afternoon and dropped it off he's a guy that lives here but works in Missoula and brought it home rather than me driving 65 miles in to town. My thought was to check it out and maybe test drive it before doing the lawn tomorrow. Wife takes it upon herself to take it for a spin. This is a woman that has DYSTROYED 3 of my cars that I could have sold and made my retirement money from. She wiped out the garden bench/5 sprinkler heads and the manual well pump for watering the outside.

HER ONLY COMMENT AFTER SHE GOT IT STOPED WAS GEE THIS THING HAULS A**

My question is ARE THEY ALL THE SAME OR DO I HAVE A ONE OF A KIND??????

I don't know what model JD Z mower you have, but mine is a EZ-Trak 655 with a 54" High Capacity mower. Yes, it hauls a** and mows an amazing amount of thick grass at the same time leaving a beautiful smoothly mowed lawn behind it. We have lots of trees and shruds to mow around and it does it much easier and faster than my JD345 lawn tractor with the same size mower. I've had mine since late May of this year ans it's been flawless. :)

Wife or mower? I don't get chance at the zero turn at our place - it's my wife's. I'd sooner fight a buzzsaw than get caught on her mower. The tractors and brush hogs are mine.

I am scratching my head on this one... Just who is supposed to be on the NO BEER diet???:-laf:-laf:-laf

All joking aside... My dad uses one to cut certain parts of the grass for a school district and he says it hauls *****!!

On a side note, I find it quite funny that my 83 year old Grandfather mows my dad's lawn while he's at work!:-laf

Bill thats the same one we got they had one that is just a bit bigger 62 or 65 in cut but the guy at the JD shop said you dont need that for the extra bucks its not worth it. It has the same power as ours so just the few inch's of cut is not that big a deal. I went out and did some damage control for the wife's adventure. She took the Honda and went around the trees and anything close until I GET USE TO THE JD :-laf It wasn't long before she didn't need to use the Honda anymore that thing turns on a dime. Its a nice machine for sure I just need to keep her away from it. Got a 4year or 500 hour warranty on it for free but dont think it covers her :-laf 5 acres of land to mow went pretty fast

Big, one o' these days you're gonna hafta learn how to hide keys away from that woman! ;-)

Mr Lins if I told you the kind of cars that she totaled you would cry. I do every time I see a picture of them she says she's sorry BUT IT DOESNT HELP IM STILL P OFF

Thats the reason SHE DONT DRIVE THE DODGE if she needs it moved I WILL MOVE IT. She has her truck and thats plenty.

Big you could Alway put a X o cage on the Mower or guard's on all your plant's better yet just hide the key's and you Might be ok when you go to sleep LOL

Simplysmn The last part of that has a KEY WORD in it "MIGHT" be ok when I sleep :-laf

She's ok for a wife I GUESS she most of the time STAYS OFF MY BACK about things. The cars!!!! is something that I will have to live with (not really) the mower??? she helps in the yard and around the outside of the house EXCEPT THE BARN clean up, so I can forgive her MOST of the time. The truck problems that she has involves replacement parts (brakes) I just wish she could learn the word COAST to a light or a STOP not power up and STAND ON THE BINDERS

On another note we got back this AM from the mountains and I GOT TO MOW THE YARD what a mower this is the best thing there is to cut lawn drink holder, i pod in my ear and a straw hat to keep the sun off my neck and face it dont get any better lawn mowing than that

Get her a little car that way the brakes last a little longer maybe ? I can't complain about My Wife she has helped buy 2 truck's n was helping with the rebuild of the old crewcab plus she has allowed me to build a second cummin's crewcab so after almost 32 yr's she's a Keeper :)

Well thats reason enough IF YOU THINK SHE'S A KEEPER well then by all means KEEP HER. We have friends that cant stand eachother and lead a very ugly life style because of it. The wife and I made a deal A LONG TIME AGO if she or I get to where we want out GO!!! life's to short to be unhappy I dont see how people can do that. Its not all a bed of roses but that's what makes it fun. We just did our 36th year Spet 24th

We are looking at a little car but the way she drives I like some IRON around her!! We really dont drive that much anymore we go to town 10 miles one way a few times a week. And go to Missoula 2 times a month 65 miles one way. We have enough to keep us entertained around the house.
