Lithia Dodge in Grants Pass Oregon is by far the WORST Service department I have ever dealt with! They have REFUSED to have any issues with D/C about any of the problems with my truck. My advice is to go to any dealer that will cut you an HONEST real deal and pay a bit extra, as you will NOT get any 5 star service from these BOZO'S:-{} :-{} :-{} :-{} :-{}

Um... can't you just go to another dealership for service? You don't HAVE to take it where you bought it! I would have no qualms about buying a truck at the worst dealership in the world if they were the cheapest... just get it serviced somewhere else...

Jeepdude-

The point that pbjohnson is trying to make is why the hell would you want to allow lithia to make money on your deal if they are going to treat you like poop in the end? Its the same point, id rather buy US made product than Jap product. You pay a little more. Its the same principal. Its a cycle that allows dealers to treat people that way if they can keep selling cars. if they stop selling then they would have an attitude change. .

Its a california thing eh?

Erik

Also, You can contact DC directly. When my dealership denied me warranty coverage and didn't even bother to call DC, I wrote them a letter and within a week, they called me and advised a check was in the mail to cover what I had to pay the dealerships. There were no issues. I just explained everything well in the letter.

Erik, I understand that point, but the deal we were getting from Lithia on new trucks was so far below invoice they were only making a couple hundred bucks on holdback for each truck. This is nothing compared to the hundreds of idiots that walk in and pay MSRP or close to it. We're not going to damage them in any way by not buying from them. On the contrary, if we buy from them at a super-low margin, and then take our trucks to another place for service, those secondary dealerships will make more than the one who sold the truck in the first place. It's a free market economy, and I understand how you'd like to teach some of these a-hole dealerships a lesson, and so would I... just not at the expense of my hard-earned money.

I have nothing but praise to say for Lithia Dodge in Medford, Oregon. The sales, service and parts departments are the best. I treat them with respect, and I receive the same in return. Everyone at Lithia has always been more then fair with me. In the few times we have had a problem with a vehicle, everyone involved did their very best see it corrected. Can not ask for anything more from any business. I appreciate them very much.

GOOD TO HEAR!! :D

Nice to hear something positive once in a while... .

To me, Lithia is Lithia. As for the people at Medford, they don't even return phone calls. I have called several times only to get "voice mail" and when you press"o" for the operator, they transfer you back to the voice mail. I have called D/C and requested that a factory rep come and see my truck. they said that I need to arrange this with the service manager. yeah, right! he has now refused to talk about my truck and said that he would not bother the rep! Now Im just going to let them buy the thing back and continue to drive my 500,000 mile 72 Chevy Cheyenne pickup. I might add that the 32 year old paint job looks better than the paint on the 04 Dodge!. As for any Lithia, they are a JOKE! Im also still waiting to get my trans line and cooler recall fixed. They have put that off for a month and now the trans has a problem finding what gear it wants to be in. My guess is that Ive toasted the transmission in 4,000 miles. They also refuse to give me a loaner or a ride home since I dont live within the 5 mile limit. I will have to wait part of the day while the gomers in the so called service dept screw with my $40k truck. They have also refused to buff out the scratch that some lame brain in the service department did by running his finger across the dusty tailgate when I complained about the oil smell in the cab. Yes guys, this is getting really old! The only non Lithia dealer aroune here is 200 + miles away in Northern Calif.

You must work at Lithia!

You are right. . I can't comment on whether they are really crooks or not, just that it's still nice to hear someone say something nice about a dealership... obviously you're not impressed tho!

Nah, that's the transmission itself that sucks, mine's been indecisive on what gear it wants from day 1. You'd know if the cooler lines caused the transmission to die because it would leak fluid from a cracked cooler. Read the recall notice. it states what can happen.

BTW, I've never gotten a "loaner" car EVER at any dealership. Offer to rent, yes, loaner, never.

Sounds like you need to move... ;)

They have become too large for their own good and their customer service has suffered. First off, any work that is needed on your truck has a month wait. Also, they sell a "lifetime" lube, oil, and filter change. The problem is, you have to schedule 3 to 4 weeks in advance and sometimes leave your truck as they only have one lube tech. Its a racket. I can say that I plan to mark my oil filter as I seriously doubt that it got changed on my first oil service. It just looked as if it had been on the truck for the first 3200 miles. No, I do not trust them at all. Any dealer that will put off for a month someone such as myself when a recall issue is sent out, has a serious problem. Im still waiting to get my latest recall done. (trans lines and cooler) These people treat you like crap once they get your money. My advice is buy where you get the best deal and then worry about where you will get your service done. Stupid me, I spent $1,000 more than I could have bought the same truck at Dave Smith, just to buy local. They still treat me like crap and have even so far as claimed I didn't buy my truck from them. Thats right. One of the rocket surgen servive writers didnt see their lic plate frame on my truck and claimed I bought somewhere else, thus told me to take it where I bought it. Needless to say, I was a bit ******. All he had to do was move his rather fat butt into his little cubical and punch on the keyboard to see that I had in fact been screwed over by their sales depratment. I rest my case. Lithia is one of the worst dealers Ive ever dealt with.

I'll jump in here. I live in southern Or. and have dealt with Lithia for years in Medford. Travis the service manager has gone out of his way to help me out even with an out of warranties problem with my 99 Durango that I bought used from them. I bought my 03 Ram CTD from them a little over a year ago, got a good deal, bought the life time oil deal and never have to make an appointment just go there, stand and watch the tech. service the truck and leave when it is done, never a problem. Got the TSB notice on the cooler lines and the connectors to the ECM and called and they said just bring it in. Did just that and in less than two hours was back on the road.

I have had super problems with other dealers before and fought with them round and round so I know how that is, but not this time.

Lithia is one of the biggest car dealerships in the country and I am sure there are bad and good ones. I just wanted to stand up and defend this one. Larry

My problems have mostly been with Lithia Grants Pass. As for where you deal, Medford, I have yet to ever get a phone call returned. My feelings still stand. I have filed a complaint with D/C for the way the so called 5 Star dealer is treating their customers. I just tried again to get through to the Lithia head service person at YOUR wonderful place in Medford and once again got the voice mail.

I rest my case.

Sounds like you need to make a trip down to Medford for service... ... If I am ever in the area and need help I will stay away from Lithia in Grants Pass... ... .

BTW I have had good luck with Bremerton Dodge but others have complained IMO some things cost more and some things are cheaper one thing for sure almost everbody I met there has been really friendly and yes they know I bought from Dave Smith I gave them a chance to meet DSM's price and they didn't nibble. Sales isn't even mad at me just yesterday I had a salesman proudly show me the new Viper Truck and he new I was not even interested in buting it.
