I purchased an Autometer fuel pressure gauge a couple weeks ago. After installation, it only read about 2 pounds. I was worried about my lift pump before I installed the gauge so the reading didn't give me any warm feelings. I scrambled to get a pressure gauge to use as a comparison but couldn't find anything under 100 psig (I tried that but you couldn't really tell anything). I contacted Autometer, told them I thought it was reading low, and they gave me some calibration checks that I could do. It looked like my fuel pressure was actually 2 pounds so... I bought a new lift pump. After installing a new lift pump and new fuel filter, I was reading 3 pounds. At this point I called Summit and told them I wanted a new gauge. They told me if I wanted another one before I shipped the old one back I'd have to pay for it again (around 175 bucks each). Anyhow, the new one came in and when I went to install it, I noticed the transducer was a slightly different color. I took a closer look and it had a 0-15 psig rating. I then looked at my old one and it said 0-100 psig. The original one had shipped with a 0-15 psig meter and a 0-100 psig transducer... suddenly the world made sense again. I swapped the transducers and everything is fine now. Just thought I'd share this story because I know a lot of members are installing FP gauges (and they should). If anyone orders an Autometer electronic gauge, check the transducer when it arrives.

Thanks Vaman. I've got the same (and proper sender) but I haven't installed it yet. Where did you end up installing your sender?

I can't help you with my sender location since I opted for the mechanical autometer fuel pressure guage (I prefer mechanical), but if you go to this link, you will see where they have been mounted. https://www.turbodieselregister.com/ubb//Forum3/HTML/002205.html

I installed a 1/8 NPT to hose adapter fitting in my fuel filter test port (post filter) and ran a short piece of fuel hose to the firewall where I mounted the sender. It's very easy to just mount the sender straight into the test port but I didn't want the engine vibrations shaking the crap out of it. You guys with the newer trucks might have a different fuel filter assembly though. I also left a drip loop in the signal line going through the firewall because at least one person (Briarhopper I believe), had the sender leak and diesel fuel ran down the signal line and into the cab (probably smelled better than those pine tree air fresheners though).

Thanks Vaman;
I just recieved my Autometer z-series fp gauge from DIS of Texas a week ago. Haven't installed it yet, but looked at it this morning. I'm assuming that the Transducer you are refering to is the metal thingy that actually is hooked up to the fuel, with the wiring harness that plugs into the back? If this is true, than I one that says on the side... range: 0 to 100 psig.
Great! I wait a month to get this dang thing and the they ship me the wrong part! Thanks for the heads-up Vaman.

BigUgly... which FP gauge did you order? If you ordered the 0-15 psig (and you have a 0-15 psig meter with that kit) then it looks like they did it again. If you ordered the 0-100 psig kit then it's the correct transducer. I figured it was just a fluke when it happened to me but maybe they sent a few of them out wrong. Let me know.
