Tire Load Range Ratings

I have this steel deck 26 foot Load Trail tilt trailer and love it! It has two 8,000# axles.

Is that a gravity or power tilt? Load Trail makes some nice heavy duty trailers. This one (non tilt) has an 8" channel main frame with a 3"x5" angle doubled to the bottom, it could stand to have 8k axles, I wish it did. I really like the looks of their 102"x26' deck over, full length power tilt.

Mine is a gravity tilt but it has a hydraulic cylinder for controlled descent so it would be easy to make into power, although I have never had a need for it yet.

Don't let the door hit ya on the way out.
Hopefully they prosecute the owner responsible for illegally hiring, and skirting the legal system for the last 15 years.

Well that certainly explains the booger welds on mass produced trailers

Picked up 15 yards of chips yesterday. My son and his chipping crew preparing a lot in Showlow so he can build the foundation for a new house.

My son asked me if I could haul some rebar for him to the top of Salt River Canyon. When I found out exactly what it was I said no, that it was too long for my 25' flatbed. I would have too much overhang and no weight on the pin. He said he was going to delete his ring tone on his phone for when I call. C W McCall (Convoy), Lol

The rebar is #11 or 1-3/8" x 32' long, 170# per stick, he has 252 of them, a semi load. Here is a picture of half the order. How would you like to tie that stuff down in a big 'ole hole for a cell tower?

Divide it into 3 or 4 loads. Put the front of the rebar on the rack in front of the flatbed. Charge him $2.50 a mile loaded and unloaded and someone else has to load it and unload it. Simple enough.

Doesn't your son have a long dual wheel tandem axle trailer Nick?

Yes, he has 30' but was hoping I could haul it, he is so busy. I could tow his trailer but the DOT watches the dually trailers. He is not sure a semi can get up the road they built to the site. Steep and tight turns. I said, "so you are going to let me spin out and slide back off into the canyon"? He said he is going to buy me a truck and trailer so I could do some work, he is tired of my little pickup, lol

A 4700/4900 Farmall would be a good match for such a trailer.

On low pros so you could clear a dump bed & still would be a higher ground clearance than your goat.

I looked at the crossmember between the gooseneck uprights, but I think it is too light duty. Then I think you would need to support the center span so they wouldn't flex too much or bend. The $2.50 a running mile is for sure not going to happen....

It’s hard to believe their building a cell tower without 18 wheel accessibility.

This country is all cinder mountains and that seems to be where they want them. There is one spot that has at least 8 towers, Porter Mountain, it is so steep the concrete trucks have to backup the last steep pitch so the concrete don't spill out the back. Even a truck and trailer my sized has to back down for a turn around.

Humm, you might be right here....only maybe stack some pallets front and rear, that would clear the gooseneck and carry the weight. Four bundles should fit on a 4' pallet which is all I can haul, that's 12k. I think my gooseneck is about 30" high, so about 5 pallets tall. Now, if I could just figure out a way to get $2.50 a running mile:D

Yes, or an M2 Freightliner with the Cummins L9 and real Jake. However, I am not interested in hauling over 26k. As long as I haul 20 hours a week or less a 2500 is exempt from all the commercial rules. Even if I upgrade to a 1 ton SRW and haul one load a year for pay, I need all the requirements of commercial hauling. So I just stay at this level and take naps when there is no hauling:)
