Did a partial oil change on my oil bath axlesI had two plastic caps leaking so I replaced them all with Valcrum aluminum ones. They have a drain plug and magnetic fill plug, should be easy to change oil. This is on my Lamar dump, 8k axles. I didn't pull the hubs and do a full oil change and flush because the unitized seals are kind of delicate and didn't want to damage them at $48 each.
I do need to change oil more often, (3 years) they were pretty black. I used 75w/140 synthetic, I think the original fill is synthetic and didn't want to mix oils.

With the new caps are you able to see the lube level? You sure the clear caps were the problem not the seals?
Yes, they are clear plastic lens. It doesn't take long for them to discolor from the oil and become unreadable, then you have to pull the fill plug to see the level.
The worst leaker was cracked, the one that was just wet, I didn't find anything wrong.

Pennsylvania made! I like the way the sides drop down on those. Thats a lot of cubic yards, is that the 15,400 GVW? What do you plan on using it for?
Looks like a nice product, $175 for four they should be!
Says the guy that buys Longhorn trucks and Mobile Suits RV'sActual was $151.96, with free shipping.
Any updates on your sons operation?
Who do they accept to perform repairs?
The one he has has a lift of some type to get proper bed clearance AND allow the trailer to run level. Stock will not work.
How hard would it be to lift the PJ?
