1) If the OE plastic fuel tank collapsed because of aftermarket fuel cap selection, I would assume the truck in question was a '98. 5 24v rig with the rollover valve capped off... the same way Dodge left it from the factory. This was a real problem when the first 24v Rams hit the streets. Other more savvy dealers picked up on this and rectified the potential problem by removing the cap during the pre-delivery prep.
2) The locking fuel caps sold through the Dodge dealer look EXACTLY like an aftermarket Stant cap... EXACTLY!
