I got the BD kit from Geno’s for my 2000. It installs easily and I’ve been happy with it. We had a ‘97 in the oil patch that had a similar unit on it. It was great and everything held up well. If something has a weakness, the oil patch will find it!
Thanks for all the help, and sorry for jumping into the middle of someone else's thread, it just seemed to be about the same thing I had questions about too.
When I did my free spin install I went to a newer axle. From the 99 to a 2002. In 2000 dana upgraded the 60 axle with bigger axles and it has the two piston brake calipers. I rebuilt the axle and upgraded the steering components. The great part was I was able to sell my old dana 60 for what it cost me to purchase to 2002 axle. R&R the axle was only 4 hours.
