I also got the Bully from eBay for $8. 99 brand new, Buy it now, the seller's name is Streetflame, he had many of them. I have not had a chance to install it yet but glad to know it works well, looked pretty good when I took it out of the package.

Wow, what a great price, I wish I had known of that one, I paid 29 dollars for mine.

But it is a very well done set up I think it is worth the 29 dollars, but man 9 bucks for one is a great price.

Bully Tailgate Lock

Get the Bully lock, it looks factory and is as good a lock as you can really put on a tailgate.

I backed my truck into a parking spot and found out too late that a tree at the back of the parking spot was overhanging just enough to push a dent at the top. So if all you guys with Atlantic Blue trucks could put off locking your tailgate until I can get a good deal on Ebay, I would appreciate it :-laf :-laf :-laf

The Powergate remote electric tailgate lock is really the way to go. Straight bolt-on no hassle installation. Locks and unlocks whenever you use your driver's side electric door lock. Also operates off the factory remote. One less key to carry. I got mine for less than $60.

Yuma - In the Desert Southwest, pickup trucks are a very common site on roadways. But now the popular trucks are the target of thieves looking to make a quick buck. Sixty seconds is about how long it takes for someone to remove the tailgate from a pickup truck. Yuma Police say tailgate thefts are on the rise. Earlier Monday morning, the Yuma Police Department arrested 2 men with stolen tailgates in the back of their truck. Forty-four year old Marcos Alvarado and 38 year old Pedro Parra now face charges for possession of stolen property. YPD says cases like this may just be the tip of the iceberg. So far this month, YPD has documented nearly half a dozen incidents of tailgate thefts. Police say thieves steal the truck part then hock them for cash. To keep your truck protected, police recommend purchasing a tailgate lock. The locks are relatively inexpensive running only about $30, but they can save you a lot of money in the long run considering tailgates run from $500-$1000.

bottom line, I guess, it's a lot cheaper to lock the gate before it gets away... my el cheapo Tundra had a locking gate, why not DC??

It's unreal that we buy trucks for nearly $40K and they make you pay extra for things like rear floor mats, fender liners and things like these tailgate locks. #@$%! Maybe my buddy is right... I should go get a Fugly Ford... On second thought... NAW!!!

Your tailgate is not the only thing they can steal. Lower the tailgate and the taillight housing comes off with two screws. I found out the hard way. Guess someone needed one pretty bad.

I had a poplock on mine before I removed the tailgate to install a camper. I was happy with it.

Cheapest I've seen is to take a radiator hose clamp and attach it to the side of the tailgate that allows you to remove the tailgate, it takes them longer to steal your tailgate.

Then I tried the PopNLoc on my last truck, got tired of going to the cab and turning the truck off to get the key to unlock the tailgate.

The hose clamp trick is what I have used on all my trucks tailgate and knock on wood, I have never had one stolen yet. In addition I do have the Pop N Lock. The object is to slow them down enough so that they may just pass on your tailgate and go find another easier one.
