Help
OK, I'n not real computer literate so I'm not sure how to PM anyone. I just tried to type a response to some answers I got, but the site said I wasn't logged in... after I had just logged in, Oh well here goes again. . MY 2001. 5 QC 6 spd HO. I bought almost a year ago and have put 18K on it since then. A few weeks ago, I determined, by doing the key thing 3x's and the fuel pressure guage, that my lift pump was on its way out. Went to my local Dodge Dealer and saw thier alleged diesel tech. To make a long story short, tech didn't seem to know very much about diesels... even less than me which is hard to believe!! He insisted the lift pump was fine. He also broke my fuel pressure guage line. After much quiet discussion, I left with my truck w/o new pump and broken guage. Order new lift pump and installed it myself with a friend as well as fixed the guage. Pressure is back to normal ranges. Went on long trip and truck started setting codes. Got them off the odo and they are as follows in the order they came up.
PCU-P0500, P1693
ECU-P0236, P0112, P0121, P1693, P0216, P1488
Looked up in my service manuals and most of them seem to be low voltage. Have checked batteries, charging system and cleaned contacts of cables. Yesterday the truck was only setting both the PCU codes and the P0112, P1693, and P1488. On a long trip last week the truck did set the P0121 and the throttle went dead. shut truck off and when I restarted it, the MIL was out and the code was gone and the throttle was back... Anybody have any ideas... . I'm lost now.....
Thanks,
Bill
