Looking for some opinions.

Just did the first at home oil change on the wifes new 2003 Toyota 4 runner. I used mobile 1 syn. Toyota recommends 5000 mile oil chg. for severe duty and 7500 for normal duty. This vehicle commutes daily 50 mile round trips and trips to the mountains ect on the weekends. We do drive it hard 80 85 on the highway. I normally change oil (Dino) every 3000 what do you think an oil + filter change with the mobil syn should be. I don't want to do oil analysis just keep it safe and$$$ reasonable.

I would change filters (GOOD filters) at 5K and oil and filter at 10K miles. Running it hard is good for it, they last longer in terms of miles before major repairs than one that is babied and not driven much.
