Interested to see how this plays out. There is a secret code stored in the win and pcm .Your replacement won't have the code so if the pcm were to fail You may be replacing the win again.Never having installed a reman win before I can't say for sure how much fun you will have.
Did your truck come out of Texas?

My wife, being the penny-pincher she is, called dealers around town here, haggled some and has me lined up to go in tomorrow for a new WIN and programming (they state i do not have to buy new FOBIKs) for $390+tax. (BTW, love my wife... not only did she just take it upon herself and make this happen, including the appointment, but it gets me off work early, too!)
I knew marrying the most frugal accountant possible would pay off some day :)
This way, I'm not down three days and paying more, total, in overnight fees.

We shall see...

By the way, the WIN from the guy in Laredo is a new one, not a refurb. The dealer normally wants $360, and he sells new ones programmed to your FOBIKs for $350. He repairs them, if possible and asked, for $150-200 or something.

EDIT: No, the truck is an original AZ truck. And that's where it still lives. Spent some time going between WY and AZ and hauled some hay at some point (found it built up on the lip between the cab and bed). But, it isn't a TX truck. I steer way clear of used TX trucks unless private sale from original owner in West TX. Too many flood trucks in SE TX

Well, got the new WIN today and dealer was able to program my original keys to it. Turns out this dealership was the original seller and had a LOT of records for it. So, they printed them off for me for my files.
The P0606 is gone, tip to start works like a charm, and it's great to get in the truck and know it will not fight you to start it.
Now... on to the Perform Service message (I think it's the EGR cleanING time at 125K)
