Here I am

Looks to me if you want a work truck it will be a Ford to do the job.

I have over 7,0000 on mine so far just a drop of oil on the BL. Just got back from Fl. pulling the 5th. Went to two campgrounds, one on the West and one on the East Cost. Looking around at the campgrounds most of the pick-ups used to pull RV's were Fords. Looks to me if you want a work truck it will be a Ford to do the job.

Man can these Ford Guys be so blind - I guess that's why they keep selling em... .....

Had to go to link and check text... This guy drove over 7 million miles, camped at two campgrounds--one on the East coast, and one on the west coast. I thought my trips were crazy.

I do see many Ford owners at the campgrounds. Its funny how many ask me how I like my 10 year old Dodge. Many don't seem happy with there newer trucks.

:p

WOW are these guys smart. After 2, I would have gotten smart and bought something else, instead of buying a third! Dean

I just returned from a road trip in my 03' Ram from SLC to LasVegas and back. We saw more Dodge Rams than anything iin the form of pickups. Sometimes as many as 4 in a 2 mile span! And we were only looking at the 3rd gens!

He might just make it to his first oil change. :D And to think this was an improvement over the first two! They must not have even made it to the 2,000 mile mark. :D

Fords do make great work trucks:

1. usually at the dealership for warranty work, so you don't have to work;

2. no one cares if you trash it, slam stuff into the bed, etc.

3. the boss buys the fuel, so mpg doesn't matter

4. resale value, longevity don't matter--it's not my truck.

:D

With exception of 3 PSDs, one being OTRPUs F-350 PSD, and a couple of D-Max GMs. All the rest of the commercial camper haulers, I have really only seen Rams with a Cummins pulling them.

I see mostly horse people and a few cattle farmers pulling with the PSDs and D-Max.

Most of the pull rigs I see in the paved camp grounds are Fords or Chev/GMC but I see a lot more Dodges pulling other heavier trailers.

If Chevy made 100 million DMAX trucks a year, which brand of truck do you think you'd see the most out on the road? Chevy. Would that make the Chevy the best truck on the road? Heck no. A lot of people have the misconception that just because Ford sells more trucks, it must be the best truck on the road.

The fact is, if it is the best truck on the road, its not because of that engine. There's been a truck-load of guys defect from Ford due to that engine. How many guys have you heard about that go to Ford because that dern piece of cr@p Cummins motor? Naaaaw! They leave Dodge for reasons other than the engine. But I actually think Dodge has made large strides improving the body of the truck. If Dodge made a serious crew cab, you see about 10 truck-loads of guys leaving Ford for a Cummins 600.

I probably do see more Ford trucks in the campgrounds and on the road. But that doesn't change the fact that for myself, I bought the best truck for the money and durability. 57,000 miles and only 1 LP (hehehe) at 45,000 miles covered under warranty (hey, it ain't no Toyota!).

I think the crew cab is the issue about more fords/chevys pulling RVs. I know I wouldn't want to ride in the back seat of my dodge when we go camping, and if we had kids, a crew cab would be justified. Most RVers take their families with them so they need the interior room.
