Anything over $3000 I'd consider just going to a built auto my self... . I've road in a few and drove one (georend). It was rather nice... .

Then again, stock auto transmission vs stock manual transmission, Manual all the way, no way you'll convince me other wise.

I guess I never posted specifically that I got the rebuilt installed about a month ago. Never again. Too much $$ for something that ain't perfect. Yes I'm being fussy, but damn for $3000 it better be perfect.

I've got another thread here somewhere that I'm too tired to find. If I get it I'll post a link here so you can see what i've gone thru with the new transmission.

Midwest lists NV4500's for around $1200 iirc. I thought about a swap but I would without a doubt trade trucks first.

Follow some of my posts on my experiences. try 2 trannys at basically 3500 a pop and I have one in the truck that does not shift right at all , and one on the garage floor that does not go into 3rd or 4th. Not to mention all my downtime that no one seemed to give a ***** about and my running back and forth to utah numerous times!!! #@$%!

Update: I called the dealer this morning to find out about a new radiator for my '07 if I needed one, which I don't. Anyway, the parts guy says, "I've got some news on your old truck. It's now a 5 speed. "

A guy came in to take it for a test drive and there was no 6th gear. No idea what happened yet. About a week or two ago one of the brake calipers locked up for the dealer as well.

I've been missing that truck lately. Not so much anymore.

Best part is, if I still owned that truck the transmission is still under warranty. Non transferrable. hehehehehee
