So what's the scoop? How has everything worked out so far?

Well so far I have put 4675 miles on the truck and just loving every mile I drive it. When I get home from work I look for a reason to get the truck out in the hills. I have been doing several weekend warrior scouting trips to the boonies before hunting starts next month to do some scouting for hunting, the system is working great and most of the roads are tore up now due to all the rainfall we are having.

Finally settled on tire pressure 40 in front 35 in rear with the stock rubber. The truck rides pretty dang good even with the small stock tires. Although once I get the larger meats the small holes and dips will be eliminated. After install of the trac bar the wheel is cocked to the right slightly but does not bother me and drives straight down the road. Need to correct that someday.

I went down to San Diego last month for vacation with the wife to do the tourist thing. On the way down did see part of the Glamis dunes and Plaster City area. Count me in for that next year!

Did manage to meet up with Sean and his wonderful wife Suzy to do some fishing out in the ocean. What a blast that was I am hooked now, although I could not cast for crap the first half the day with open reels we were using looked like a rat nest every time I would try to cast. Sean thru a cast or two for me, I know I am embrassed  but hey I could dang sure reel them fish in. Sean & Suzy showed us around SD took us to some awesome places to eat. Thanks to Suzy & Sean for taking time to show us around SD.

While driving the freeways down there, I don't know why SoCAl drivers are complaining about the expansion joints - how rough they are and the highways being so rough, my truck seemed too roll over them really smooth like they were not there..... :-laf Oooh I forgot I have a Lorenz setup under my truck... . :D. The highways are pretty jacked up down there and seriously the truck was nice & smooth on the freeways.

Still have left on the list of goodies before the hunting season starts----

-Mud Tires - can not decide yet Toyo or TrXus-leaning towards these better design for mud & snow and have proven themselves here in NM in these type of conditions better than Toyo's

-Powder coat H2s - flat black or matte finish

-???Thinking of powder coating the chrome on front & rear bumpers same as the wheels

-ST Grille to match the powder coat

-Adjustable Control Arms - Lorenz

-Step Bars

-Tire Gate

-Exhaust

-Skid plate for T-case

All in all the system is working very well for me soaking up what I have ran it over, more to come once I get wrapped up in hunting season next month. Then in September, October, and November I will be spending many more miles in the hills with the truck putting it to work.

When I start getting some of these goodies on the truck I will put up pics.

JTNM, a local TDR member, Mike B might have a 2 tire, rear gate option available pretty soon?... We'll be distributing at LORENZ when it hits production.

Any sneak previews Mike?

SWEET!!!!! Bigger picture possible please or you teasing us?

What do you think

Okay I just got the H2s powder Coated and Interco 35X12. 50 TrXus on, I am trying to make up my mind to either leave the hub caps off, leave the hub caps chrome, or paint them black to match the wheels. I kind of like everything just can not make up my mind. Sometimes I look at them and like the chrome on there, then another look I think it looks goofy. Maybe you guys can help me make up my mind. What do you think?

before painting them black i would scotchbrite the hell out of them and see what that satin look does for your truck. i think all black is too much. if they were satin i think it would blend in well and look great.

jtnm... Thanks for the update. The H2s are looking good on there! I have a hard time with the chrome center caps and a black wheel if there is no accent chrome somewhere else on the wheel lip or inside the spokes for contrast. Try them with the "Scotchbrite Satin" look and if that doesn't work, paint them. Worse case scenario... you don't like any of those combinations and you can just leave them off.

Out of curiosity, do the H2 and 35" combos rub anywhere? My 35" toyos rub the control arms at full lock (stock Aluminum wheels). I would love to find a set of rims offset just enough to fix that without creating any other rubbing issues.

I would paint the caps black, the wheels look real good too!

Thanks RankRam!

Thanks for the suggestion Megadesertdiesel I am going to give this that a try:cool:, I am thinking I might like this look. It might look like gun barrel satin. I went with satin black on the poweder coat. Would I need to spray on some clear or some kind of sealer?

No sir, no rubbing anywhere with this combo. I really like the offset look the H2 gives, not too much just right.

When I was out scouting this past weekend I had a little rain storm dump in the area I was in it got a little nasty on the roads but not that bad. The wheel offset & tires were not as bad as I thought they would be about throwing the mud up either in the cab if I had the window down or on the front windshield but like I said the roads were not that bad, but I can see if it was really nasty I would be slinging the hell out of the mud:D. There might be fender flares or fiberglass fronts in the near future... ...

I have the same problem. Ive run both the caps and nothing on the stock wheel and cant decide either way.

Great looking truck 231jasonS!!! I like those headlights. Can you tell me about those are they aftermarket or did you black them out yourself?

Thanks guys for all the suggestions & compliments!

Those are the DC "niterunner" edition lights. They only offered them in the 06 and its some kind of option packaged for a 1500 thats blacked out.

I was 50/50 before we photo shopped your truck. I'm 90/10 now, and leaning toward black on black.

Satin would is another good option but... . it took me 2 days to get around to photo shopping the black.
