Nokian Studded snow tires have finally arrived......everyone sold out due to the early winter onset up here.....

These are supposed to be the best that there is....have to order them studded....Nokian does not allow tire dealers to stud them, done in Finland before they ship out.


Note the square studs turned 1/4 turn....

Nokian H's are a very high end tire. I've run them, Blizzak and Toyo Observe tires and had good luck with them all. For the price, I found the Toyo Observe to be the best bang for the buck. Nokian H's are the favorite tire of the liberal elites here in Ak.........what's that say about you Mike????? Hahahahahahahaha

Winter tires are amazing. My wife used to have a 760 Volvo, and with the "no season" tires it was terrible in the snow, but with Arctic Alpins that thing was like a tank.

Yup. I had VR Mud&Snows on my '87 Formula 350. I easily drove across the Kancamagus Highway in 4-6 inches of snow with them when heading up to Wildcat for some skiing.

Lots of articles and videos out about a coming "mini ice age". That doesnt mean the earth is going to be covered in ice but the winters will be colder, longer, wetter and farther south than normal. You can take these with a grain of salt because as we all know how predictions go (if Al Gore was right the east and west coast would be under 20 feet of water right now).
However earth cycles and solar cycles are more indicative of what is going to happen. We are going into a solar minimum besides about 3 other cycles that could converge that will lower our temps. Time will tell but ACTUAL scientists believe that this "mini ice age" happens in a lot shorter time span than originally thought.
I wouldnt mind seeing a little snow

Will I hope the guy's in the mountains of NC like snow! From what are weather reporting people are saying that Asheville NC might see up to 20" of snow this weekend.
Of course, this same storm is washing away of all southern Calf in mud slides.
