The folks that depend on sledding to keep them alive in winter will be grateful. On the bright side ( for me) our forecast has changed dramatically. 36hrs ago the prediction was for 6 inches of heavy, wet snow then changing to freezing rain accumulating up to 1/2 of an inch of ice, maybe more with 40 mph wind gusts. Now it’s 3 inches of snow turning to 1-2 inches of plain rain. It’ll be a mess but it could have been much worse.

Snowing hard, temperature is a concern...only 2 degrees right now...That's a little cold for it to be snowing...so if the wind comes up and the power starts going out people that are not prepared for whatever reason are going to be in a bad place quickly....

You have a lot more time to deal with a cold house at 25 degrees than you do at 0 degrees....

Here in Southern Connecticut...

2" of snow overnight changed to all rain by dawn. Then the temps dropped while the rain continued. Now the winds are picking up.

Luckily Rhode Island is just far enough east to have had little or no accretion. Same amount of snow but the changeover was complete. Now that the storm has moved on the wind is picking up but we won’t have any ice on limbs or wires to deal with.
