I have tried not to respond to this anymore, but all of this poor, poor Evan stuff is just too much.
We all hate to see him go, and we all hope it is not permanent... but some of you guys are not reading the posts from the moderators. He has not only had a previous warning, but several. He brags about having been warned already five times, by Patton himself. He cheats on his language on the forums... remember his Dr. P post? That is just one of many. He skirted around the avatar limitation and made his larger. He has skewed facts to make a product look better/worse to those that read his posts. I can reference his posts on all of this... try searching his posts. Does he help this board and its members? Yes. But you need to know he is a vendor employee, just as he tried selling us banks ottominds, and yet just about every other post on banks from him is negative. When I questioned this, he says I am picking on him, and that he would disclose all problems with the banks stuff when we call to purchase some. Maybe. Maybe not.
The number one reason he should take some time off from posting is much more serious. He has threatened to email a virus to a tdr member for reminding him of the rules. No, it was not me... it was a different member of which can remain nameless. I will not go into details on that, except to say that he has many stories out there on what has happened, and I doubt that any two match.
How about all of Evan's "real HP" posts? All of his talk about how boxes are not real HP. All of a sudden, his employers start to carry a new line of electronic boxes, he installs one for "testing", and tries to sell them on this board. Is it real HP now that they sell them?
One last thing... Evan accuses me of following him around on the board. Go read the posts on those threads... almost each and every one, I posted first on it. The only one I didn't was on the 12 valve forum where he posted some info, taking credit for it when in fact, it was not his idea. I simply gave the credit where it belonged, and posted parts numbers.
The red valve cover is another issue... he would not post the correct number for it cause he wanted to be "unique". He got upset with me when I posted the numbers. Grow up! If the product is purchased across the counter, its not going to remain unique for long.
We all correct misunderstandings and misinformation on this board. How many of you have posted and corrected misinformation? Does that mean you are picking on that person? I don't think so.
The solution was very simple a while ago. All he had to do was control his language a bit and put his business name in his signature identifying that he was associated with the shop. That way, we can read his posts in the manner they are meant... to sell products. Bragging about all of his warnings doesn't show a lot of maturity nor does his sudden changes in product evaluations.
