Ok here's the deal. I am cruising down the interstate (unloaded). Cruise set on 70. Then i notice i'm slowing... I look at EGT it is normal 5-6 area. Boost is mear 10psi. Temp is normal. Pedel is to the floor! So I knock the cruise off push in the clutch, and hit the pedel. It comes back to life and resumes normal conditions. Then only thing that I have noticed is that it only happens when I'm down to about 1/4 tank of fuel or so. I don't see where that would cause a problem. About 20k ago i replaced LP and vp. I popped the test port on the fuel filter and get a steady supply of fuel.

Any ideas would be great!

Tps?

Throttle Position Sensor? Just taking a stab at it but if I remember correctly you turn the key on (not start) & slowly depress the throttle to the floor to reset it. I believe but am not sure, that you slowly depress the pedal like three times... . I'm sure someone on here knows for sure. Good luck.

Clay is right about the way to recalibrate your throttle except, it's officially called the APPS (accelerator pedal position sensor) . It's pretty easy to do. Hopefully it cures the problem.

Not trying to hijack your thread but my '99 has been having intermittent loss of throttle as well. It has happened 4 times on the interstate when I go to pass someone, I mash the pedal to the floor and nothing happens, i just maintain speed w/ EGT's normal, fuel @ 10-12psi. Then a few days ago when in 3rd gear I went to get on it and no throttle response, once again the pedal is on the floor but nothing. The weird thing is that after a second and after i let out the pedal I get the response back. The check engine light has been coming on and off with all 4 incidence with it on. I haven't reset it once but I'll go to start the truck and it doesn't show. I've been doing some research on here and I've come to three conclusions:

1. ground is loose

2. APPS is going bad

3. VP is going bad

How should I go about narrowing these down, thanks

Harden

oh yeah, comp is on 3X5 each time

I tried all of the above and replaced the MAP and APPS. My problem was a battery going south and the alternator creating excessive random spikes. Check the condition of your batteries.

LOL
