My stock Infinity stereo was not able to tune in any AM stations. FM stations seemed to lose reception not far from town. I checked the back of the stereo and everything was plugged in and tight. Checked the antenna base, it too was ok. A local radio repair told me to try a metal coat hanger in the antenna outlet. This brought in my AM stations. So I knew the stereo was ok. I thought the antenna cable must be damaged. The dealer had one in stock for $13. 00 dollars so I bought one. This is where I realized that there was a 2nd conection under the dash. The 2nd connection was next to the bottom of the glove box by the right kick panel. It was wrapped in a gray foam tape. This connection had come apart. The aluminum casing had split apart allowing the cable to separate partially. This would allow FM tuning but not AM tuning.
I was able to push the two connections back together and all is well. Oo. I am posting this hoping to save someone else a little trouble.
I am in need of a rear "B" pillar Infinity speaker. I have a partial part number of 5602**6. If anyone has removed the stock equipment and still has one of the rear speakers laying around, I would be interested in it. Please pm or e-mail me at -- email address removed --.
