I installed my Edge Juice and Attitude today, I am not sure what to do with the low boost fueling adjustment. I went out for a tets drive and to be honest I am not very imprest with the performance. The EGT probe was not a problem to install, (Thanks to all of you). I am thinking I may meed to do a little adjustment with the boost fuel? So I can use your advise and help. :p
 
I set all of mine to 5 on the low boost scale and run 3-5 most of the time. If you have a stock truck, then they recommend not going above 3-5. Mine runs better with the low boost up to 5

What do you mean by low boost? I've read the instructions and I see five "power levels", but no reference to boost levels. Are we talking one and the same?

jimnance, look at page 40 in the instructions it is talking abought the LOW BOOST FUELING ADJUSTMENS.
 
"Low Boost Fueling" is set in the Juice Configuration menu: "Low Boost Fueling" Adj



Setting for each power level. Option for each power level is 1(lowest smoke) to 5(most responsive). I usually left mine set 1/1, 2/2, 3/3, 4/4 & 5/5. This kind of made since to me.



Other than making a little more smoke on the higher Low Boost Fueling settings, I don't believe there is really much performance gain. It should only affect the fueling before turbo spools to match throttle and fuel map. With the stock turbo this is pretty fast.

Are you saying minimal difference between 3/1 (level 3 with lbf on 1) and 3/5 (level 3 with lbf on 5)? Doesnt increasing the lbf add to throttle response / low end? Is there a smoke difference? When you say "With the stock turbo this is pretty fast", are you refering to the truck itself or the turbo spool?
 
I do mean that I did not see/feel any real difference between 3/1 and 3/5 other than smoke. There may be improved response, but I could not really tell the difference with the stock turbo. The stock turbo did spool pretty quick with AFE Stage II and high flow muffler and once spooled up the setting does not really matter. Now with the HOT Juice/Attitude, EZ stacked and SPS66 turbo, the EZ provided low end fueling all the time, so once again on levels 1, 2 & 3 couldn't really tell that much difference on the low boost fooling settings. I did not really do anything with that setting on the dyno or the track, there it was HOT Juice on 5/5, EZ on level 3 and WOT.
 
I do get a bit more smoke when i put my foot in it having adjusted low boost fuel to 5. In addition the throttle is more responsive IMHO when accelerating from cruising at low boost without downshifting.

These dynos were when I had an HTB2 62/14 turbo and DD3 injectors. It was pretty hard to see any difference in the dyno numbers or graphs. The only difference I really noticed was the amount of black smoke, which meant not enough air. Probably what I should have done is got the HP or Torque versus time graphs to see how much faster/slower the turbo spools. Next time I'm going to Meridian to dyno I'll get those graphs as Don has everything saved on his computer! Hopefully in the next few weeks because I want to see what the SPS 66 with 3-flow injects does with the Juice. Stay tuned...
 
The higher the sub-level, the more low end grunt you'll have. Very easy to feel and before I started running Bio, very easy to see as well. Most noticeable when towing and letting the clutch out going uphill with 25K behind you. Running B20 I see less smoke on 3-3 than I used to see on 1-1.

The higher the "low boost fueling adjustment" the quicker the truck takes off without the turbo being spooled up yet. I played with mine for a while, and probably burned a bunch of fuel, but would run level 2 for example and adjust the "low boost fueling" up and up untill I had a fair amount of black smoke when mashing the go pedal, then backed it down one "low boost fueling" setting. Cause, it might be a hair faster and black smoke is cool, but it is just unburned fuel, and I would rather burn as much as possible considering fuel prices!



I think I have setting 1 w/ 1"low boost", setting 2 also @ 1 "LBS", and setting 3 @ 2 "LBS" and level four @ either 4 or 5 "LBS", I figure if I'm on setting 4(as high as I go(to protect transmission)) I'm messing with someone and they might as well get the full package, and an ear full of smoke! And if I'm towing I don't really mash the go pedal very often so I might as well keep it from dumping unburned fuel.



If any of this isn't quite right I'm sure someone will correct me.
 
Thank for all the input and help, as for my Juice/Attitude it went back to Edge. I called up the TS and told them that I could't fill any difference in performance. They help me with a couple of test and told me to send it back and after it arrives they will send me a new one. So it was not the setting in the low boost fueling. So, I will let you all know how the next one works.

Did you do this on the fly? That will set codes 2146 and 2149 in mine if I do it on the fly.



As luck (bad) would have it, mine set those codes this morning. I was towing heavy up a hill shifting from 2nd to 3rd. I shifted early, on purpose, to see if it could pull it. RPM down to about 1500 or so and it didn't want to pull it. Truck bucked and went into limp mode the rest of the way up the short hill. By the time I reached the top everyting was cool and it ran fine after that.



The other two times I've seen those codes I was messing with LBF as I was driving. This time I wasn't. I can understand why the truck wouldn't pull the load, but why limp mode???? :confused:
