I am installing the Edge with attitude today and am curious about the Low Boost Fueling adjustment. Is this adjustment basically just for the smoke level? It says that it will also help with the response, what part of response does it help? Any suggestions on levels? What is bad about having it smoke?

Thanks for the help,

Jason

Jason, I set my power levels 1 to 4 on the lowest boost fueling, ( number 1), because I'm not looking to blow alot of smoke just tooling around. However, on level 5, (Extreme), I have the low boost fueling set to 5. This way I just punch up level 5 and fog those tail-gaters. I have the Hot Juice and the low boost fueling also seems to help spool the SPS66 turbo. Just my 2 cents. Oo.

Low boost fueling is the level of fuel that will be dumped before you build enough boost to burn it. That's why the smoke. The response you will feel. Go ahead and play around with it. Start on Level 3-1. Do a little take off and see what you think. Then go to 3-3 and hang on. You'll quickly find out what it's all about.

I copied and pasted my post from another thread and it pertains more to fuel mileage but You'll get an idea of what is going on.

I talked to Edge yesterday about the Juice/attitude. He told me that the main levels are timing, the sublevels or low boost levels as they call them, are more duration.

After talking for some time the way I understand how it works is like this.
power level 1 = small increase in timing
power level 2 = a little more timing
power level 3 = a little more timing
power level 4 = a little more timing
power leve 5 = the most timing.

Sublevels or low boost smoke control levels.
sublevel 1 = a little extra fueling off idle
sublevel 2 = a little more
sublevel 3 = a little more
sublevel 4 = a little more
sublevel 5 = the most fueling off idle

So if you can drive sensible and keep your foot out of the throttle especially towing you can get your best fuel mileage on power level 4 or 5 with sublevels set at 1.

Timing is what helps fuel mileage with the Juice/Attitude.

He told me that esentually Edge had to call the levels something and since it's a power module before a mileage module the number 1 level was called mileage increase level. They did this with the expectation that people buy these boxes for power and playing around so they had to protect the consumer by naming the levels as such.

Now if you take a little prudence with this module you should be able to get some good fuel mileage.

Set your boost back down % to about 36-38 PSI.
Set your EGT back down % to about 1300 - 1350* F
Turn on your transmission slip back down to ON.

Run your truck on level 3 - 4 with sublevel 1. You should see a nice fuel mileage increase.

Level 4 is what I was told is the best fuel mileage increase but you have to drive conservative and use a lite foot while towing to increase speed from a stop to highway speeds. This is more for drive train safety than anything. If you set your Juice/Attitude up right, towing in the upper power levels is doable and can increase fuel mileage.

Now non of this is from experience as I just ordered a Edge Juice/Attitude from www.truckaddons.com

I'am just explaining it the way I interpreted it from Edge. I'll know more once I get the module and can experiment a little. #ad

 That is the best explanation of how it works that I have seen,if accurate it will give many people a hand up to make it work in their particular situations.

Thanks Bob, really appreciate it. I like to research and find out what makes things tick. Some times that gets me into trouble when I use what I've learned to counter act marketing hype.

Again, Thanks.

My understanding is that each level has more timming AND fuel. the adj pre boost fueling is just that, extra fuel before boost starts. Level 4 has more fuel than level 2 no matter where you set the pre boost level.

You are correct. power level 4 will add more power than power level 2. I should have stated power levels have both timing and extra fuel. sublevels is when the fuel is added. So if you look at it the way I described it you can understand how to use the edge Juice/Attitude and not make it as hard on drivetrain components. The way I described it was more for towing safely not all out full racing. If your going to do full out racing just leave level 5 on sublevel 5 or get the hot Juice. The back down feature can be overriden by just overriding that feature for any determined amount of time you put into it. The juice/attitude will then go back to your settings automatically after the prescribed time you put in. It really only takes seconds to program.

Thanks for the information. I have been driving around in 1 thinking that would be the best for fuel economy. I will try 4/1 and see how that works. I have hit 4 a couple of times already, but just testing it out to see how nice it launches... .
