I just read an article that said we'll be paying . 20 to . 30 cents more per gallon for the priviledge of using the low sulphur diesel fuel. Can anyone confirm when the changeover will take place?

I'm in San Diego. The ULSD is here and runs 20-25 cents higher than 87 octane gas; currently the lowest reg is 3. 01 or so and the lowest #2 is 3. 21. That's at different stations. Usually the same station will have about a 23 cent spread. My daughter lives in Flagstaff AZ. There they have, as of late May, plain old LSD and when I was there(the day I picked up my new truck!!) #2 was 2. 94 and reg gas was 2. 95 at the cheapest place in town. In Kalif, #2 has been higher than reg gas for a couple years.

I guess the true test will be what happens to the price in Flagstaff later in the year when ULSD hits them too.

Diesel prices have been going down here. I am wondering if it's because they are trying to get rid of the LSD?

I filled at the same price as unleaded today with old number 2 (2. 69).

There does nto seem to be much rymne nor reason in the midwest, most places run diesel 15-20 cents higher than unleaded unless you are on the interstate near a truck stop. However, when unleaded goes up, diesel stays the same for a day or so, then it goes up to. They come down at the same time.

we have been paying . 20 to . 50 more per gallon for diesel for at least the last year and a half here in utah. I am getting sick of it diesel is always more than premium fuel. today I was thankful to fill up at 2. 97/gal which is still . 01 more than premium gas. It seems the west has taken the diesel hit for a long time, everywhere else in the country is paying about the same for diesel as they are gas, I still haven't gotten a logical explaniation, I would think when diesel is . 40/gal cheaper in other states around us, one could make some money trucking it in to the state

Is this going to be over the 20-30 cents of the current price? (i. e. . up to 60 cents over gasoline?)

Do you have a link to that article?

I'm loading it off the pipeline & into stations here in oregon now. It has to be in place by Sept. 1st. We are trying to run the tanks down to delute out the 500ppm lsd to make sure by sept 1st it will meet specs for the 15ppm ulsd.

I read somewhere :confused: that's part of why diesel became higher than gas in the first place. The way I understand it we're already paying for it so maybe it won't go much higher. In south Mississippi I am paying 2. 75 gas is 10 cents cheaper. Guess i can't bit'h to much.

I filled up this evening . . $3. 099/gal. That's $. 20 more than reg unleaded. I did notice that the pump is still marked to NOT use in the 2007 models.

Time also for a locking cap, gas and fuel thefts are starting to rise in my area. My scanner has been working overtime regarding all the thefts. Some mention abot thefts on the Albuquerque news a couple nights ago.

ULSD as of right now has pretty much stayed the same as diesel was before ulsd was released. But this is the 500ppm diesel, but is says on the pump that it is ulsd

ULSD has been showing up at some stations around here but the prices are the same as the low sulfer we have had. I wonder if this is only to stay competitive until the ULSD is mandated then everyone can use it as an excuse to raise the price.

gas has been about 2. 79/ gal here for the last month and a half, diesel has been around 3. 19 and just barely dropped down below 3 bucks, What is strange is Gasoline appears to be the same price or close all over the nation, but diesel seems to vary quite a bit. with the west taking the biggest soaking

FYI, I Paid $2. 95 at the station/minimart at 1700 S & State (SW Corner) up here in SLC this week if you are ever up this way.

$3. 15+ everywhere else.

Arco:$3.07

Diesel actually dropped overnight to $3. 07 at an Arco station in my area here(San Diego) I haven't seen any ULSD stickers yet but Arco's been dispensing"clean"(their description,not mine) fuel for quite some time now. I think it has been "reduced"sulfer. Not bad for Public Assistance Mecca State. :{
