No I am not looking for a low rider.....

Thanks:cool:

Put on some running boards, DC will pay you up to $400 for them on their AutoMobility Program, why not let them pay for your boards :)

What's the deal with the AutoMobility Program? This is the second time I've heard ABOUT it, but I've yet to hear how to get in on it... .

If I recall, in about 88, we bought the equipment and then turned in receipts to the dealer who forwarded to Chy. They sent the reinbursement to us.

Should have info on the DC web site, might be hard to find tho - if I get time will try to find a link.

I have already installed side steps and they do not get the job done. Thanks for the input though. I am sure that this will be helpful to somebody.

Is there any other suggesttion on lowering the truck without selling it and buying a 1500.

I am mildly interested in ordering a 2004 4WD 3500 SRW, but would like to know if there is a TSB or some other method to lower the back end of the truck to better hitch up to my 5er. The axles on the 5er are already flipped, so don't go there.

You can lower the rear by taking out the two 1/2" plates between the springs and the axle. That will get you an inch lower in the back.

Shocks may be too long after that, and the u-bolts might not have enough thread on them either.

Contact an offroad supply store such as www.4wheelparts.com or go straight to a suspension manufacturer and ask them of the possiblity of finding a company that can make you custom springs that are not as tall.

Keep in mind though the problem with lowering it too much or maybe any at all is the clearance of the axles (front and rear) with the lower components of the truck. The idea of lowering the truck may not be possible with the clearance issues and keeping the angles of the front and rear driveshafts correct and possible clearance issues with the axles also.

My suggestion is to call them and see what their thoughts are on this.
