Good afternoon, does anyone know how to adjust the Lukes Link that I have on my 2nd generation 4x4? It appears that it is loose.

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply JFought. I was hoping somebody would have the instructions or drawing on how to adjust it... I bought the truck in 2007 and it already had the Lukes Link installed on it.

Try looking at the Luke's Link web site... ... lukeslink.com
They are adjustable. You can try to just tighten it after taking out the cotter pin or you may need to disassemble it and add a spacer washer.

Yes you must add washers to tighten them up. When you remove the cotter pin and cap, inspect the pink teflon bushing (they call them a spring). If it is too far gone or falling apart, just call them up. They I received mine the next day, and the did not charge me. Every time I have dealt with them, it has been a pleasure.

Thanks for the info JMcCoy. After looking at it carefully, something didn't look rite to me. I took it into the local Alignment Shop for them to evaluate... it appeared that the top portion of the link was gone. Thank god I wasn't cruising down the highway at 70 and this let loose!!! I will try and post a couple of pictures of the failed Lukes Link when I get a chance.

My guess is that the joint became so loose that it cocked at an angle and broke the joint. I broke one of my joints during my first install. Of course that was my fault. I decided to try to beat the joint on instead of grinding the end more like I was suppose to. I would give them a call.
