Campground recommendation

Good evening

I am looking for local information, on a camp ground for this event. I figure it will only be a five or six hour drive for me, But I would like to camp where some of you Turbo Heads are.

The benny to the one that John picked is it is close to the races. It looks like a good place for everyone to meet at like we did in the Round Top Campground in Pa. Just a thought. I have never been there, But I found it on the road atlass and was thinking of staying there. Recommendations???????? I would like to make a reseveration for a site SOON.

Hammer

How close to the highway is it??

Keith (Rammin on)

Do you think they have a car wash I can use up there. I sure hope the water is thawed out by then

:D :p  :D

John-P

Do you think I should put one of those "Slow moving Vehicle" signs on my truck/camper for this trip?? I am hopeing to have alittle more under the hood for this trip.

I am looking forward to seeing ya all in a couple of months. Any information/recommendation on where to set up camp would be great.

Thanks again

See Ya

Chris

Camping is a maybe for me now

Hello All

I may not be camping up there, I have a slipping problem with my baby. I hope to have a new clutch in her the first part of April.

If I don't then I may drive up there anyways.

Hope to be there on the 27th.

See Ya

Chris

Does anyone know if we need to pre-register if we plan on racing? I am in hopes of giving the Cummins in my truck its first chance at the 1/4 during this event.

Doug,

I haven't received all the info from the track yet but based on previous MIR events.

We should get there at least :30 minutes before the gates open for the general public.

They will collect our money and let us through the gate. We should get a group sport behind the pits next to the truck show folks.

If you want to race it will be an extra $10. 00, no pre-registration necessay. I think you can enter the truck contest/show shine for another $5. 00. They will give you a color coded wrist band for racing. You will have to pass a tech inspection to run on the track. If your truck made it to the track you will pass the inspection. The inspection is pretty basic for the street/12. 99 second plus folks.

You can make quite a few practice runs to get a feel for the track and the tree and figure out a time if you are going to bracket race.

I will try to find my info from last year and see what the exact prices were. As soon as I hear from the event coordinator I will post the specifics regarding group attendance.

Last year they had a list of names in the group and you had to have the email verification form they sent out to group members, hopefully it will go a little more smoothly this time.

Dave,

Thanks for the info... . Looks like they are having a street drag at the track on Friday night before the nationals, I might try and go up and give it a whirl. I am in hopes that a few mods up my sleeve might get me into the 12 sec. category, but we will have to see if it all works out.

I am thinking about trying to get a hotel for Friday night, is anybody planning on doing the same? It would be fun if there is a group of us staying at the same place. I don't own a trailer so camping is kinda out for me.

Camping

Keith,

I think some of the guys were looking at the campground near the 301 bridge. That is the one MIR lists. It may not be real nice. The other choice, though it is about 45 minutes north of the track is to grab a spot at Wiredawg's campground. I think they offer spaces nightly.

Camping

Hey guys

I was thinking of staying over at Fredericksburg at a KOA campground. I know the guys from GLTDR are staying in Fredericksburg at the Best Western (I think).

But I would like to stay with the rest of the group, so if you guys stay at Aqualand, or wherever it is OK with me.

Need to get some reservations made.

Dave D, if your taking toll who's going, strike me from the list. I just found out I have to work that weekend. :{ Ken

Camping revisted

Bringing it back up to the top.

Just curious as to who is camping SOUTH of Maryland. Where at??

Also is there a meeting place for a convoy from Va. to Maryland ??

Thanks

See Ya

Chris

SBC on order, be here soon.

Where are the majority of you staying? My plans are fluid at the moment for heading up there ... Chris sent me a list of place to stay ... has anyone made the command decision on a place?

Dyno??

I am fairly new to this kind of stuff so this may be a stupid question, but what does it take to get somebody to bring a dyno to one of these events?

I didn't have my Dodge last year, I had a GMC Dually, but I still went to this same event along with the Fall one also. Seemed like there was a pretty big draw at both. I for one would definately fork out some cash to be able to run on a dyno, then turn around and run on the track too.

Looking foward to meeting some of you guys at the event also.

Rammin On,

I am planning on staying at:

Best Western of LaPlata

6900 Crain Highway # 301

LaPlata, MD 20646-5933

(301) 934-4900

Not sure if I will be there both Friday and Saturday nights or not... How late does this event last?
