How 'bout a BOMB party at Massdiesel's New Shop?

You don't have to tell us what your bringing unless you want to. The only requirement at Kauffman's is : If you're going to work on your truck- you have to dyno. Hasn't been a problem in the past.

Andy: If my right hand man resigns, I'll be lost

Does anyone know if there is any place to camp at? If I am correct , this is only a one day event? I didn't know if Kauffman's would allow a camper to stay there or not. Any ideas? Thanks

Git-R-Done - I just happen to know first hand (I work with Mrs. Kauffman) that camping is allowed. They do not have any hook-ups, but you can park a trailer there - no problem!

Maple Grove is the 7th, Kauffman's is the 14th, and the rescheduled Pittsburgh race was going to be rescheduled for the 14th also, but now they are looking at a September date instead.

Should I attend?

I am considering attending this event. Let me ask a few questions:

1. I am afraid I will feel out of place. Is this a good ol' boy event? (no disrespect meant to anyone)? If it is that is fine I just feel like I will have little to share. I do not drink alcahol and as my kids say I am a boring party guy. BUT - I love my cummins... So, is it safe? (Do not be afraid to tell me it isn't, I would not be offended).

2. I have never been on a dyno before and am somewhat intimidated. What all is involved?

NOW - the reason I ask is that I will have the MAD CaTCHER ECM in my truck by then. Other than what you see below my truck is stock. I would love to dyno it before the MAD CaTCHER goes in and then after.

So, what do ya guys think??

Thanks

Phil (boring guy)

I've only been to one other TDR event myself. But, from what I saw... if you like to talk trucks, then you're gonna have a good time. I'm sure that SEVERAL guys will be more than interested in your new ECM as that seems to be a hot topic right now.

I say the more the merrier. And it's not like you are REQUIRED to stay the whole time, either. I seriously, seriously doubt it... but IF you are not having a blast, then just take off. But like I said, that probably won't be an issue.

As far as the dyno goes, one of the guys there operates your truck when it's on the machine. You can even tell him what RPM you want him to shut it down at (if you're worried about that sort of thing). I was at Kauffman's in Feb. by myself and they are a GREAT group of guys.

Come watch some guys make some smoke, dyno your truck, and be prepared to get bitten by the BoMB bug.

Hope to see you there,

Dave

PRyker... .

Come on down... Look forward to meeting you there. I plan on installing a TST on mine, and will dyno before and after. Never dynoed before.

If I have the time that day, I would like to show up. I missed last year, but would like to meet & talk with others about our trucks. Its rite in my backyard practically. Can I just show up?

Thanks,

Cole

Well that makes two of us. Seriously, last year was my first time, and I had a blast.

If they let Greg in, they'll let ANYONE in! :D Oo.

Scott, My wife got a big kick out of that!!:D Oo. :p

Guys,

ALright... Pending a clear calendar that weekend I will be there. Will there be someone who can help me swap out my ECM (never done it before but I heard it is a piece of cake)? With tools?

looking forward

Phil

No list to dyno Jengle, show up,turn her over to Dave and watch the HUGE grin as he gets to whip,no maybe thats a bad way to say it,Ok,I got it now yeah,DRIVE your truck and see how much power it makes:D :D :D :D .

I may be a touch late depending on how work goes the night before but I will be there. I am going to drop off my Weber early in the week so its there to cook on,but,we may need one more grill if anyone wants to load up and bring theirs.

Phil... .

Let me see if I can put your mind at ease now... .

You may THINK your boring, but once your around all of us you will liven up. There are alot of us who don't drink but still can story tell with the best of them, you will be fine, just stay away from Jengle,he is a bad influence,LOL.

"2. I have never been on a dyno before and am somewhat intimidated. What all is involved?"

Show up,truck along with you, pull her onto the rollers and let the gang tie her down, and watch as the VERY capable Kauffman crew show you what you have. Dave has wheeled many diesels and will not hurt your truck and you may even sit inside if it makes you more comfortable.

Come and bring your appetite,we always have plenty of food, stories and good times. Some guys will do some mods, some will just BS,who knows you may even catch a guy waxing his truck.

Now on to a on-going issue at hand...

I am not sure what issues you mean Ted but if they are between us then you need to PM me as I missed something somewhere. I tried not to rain on the DHRA's parade when I set this up.

I will think over my decision while I am away in Upstate NY the rest of the weekend for a Mopar show. Now If I can get ONE measly little day of no rain I will be a happy camper... ... . Andy

OH Yeah,note to self... .

Bring along the driveway broom, trash can and shovel to pickup all the rubber that somehow I feel will be lost off of Dockboy's BFG's that day. I have never riden in a Phord Flowerpoke, but, maybe Greg will take me for a ride in it. After seeing him drive I will remember my helmet and SFI approved jacket too.
