Made a bracket for the BHAF. I'm sure some are out there, haven't seen any but I made this one for $6. 00. Just wanted to share it with you all.

It is made out of a hanger for a garden hose. I bought some short bolts to attach it with, but need a couple of washers on the backside under the lower mounting bolts to clear the fender where the bolts stick out.

Today I enlarged the hole on my airbox alot. I made the hole full width and went up to just where it was about to angle up. Seems to have made a noticeable difference in EGTs and a little more noise. :D

Scott, thanks for the pic. I would add if you use a prefilter for the bhaf, definately dab some silicone over all the exposed bolt heads that the prefilter comes in contact with, as they will rub a nice hole in the prefilter. No problem if no prefilter as the bhaf is a tough wire mesh that aint gonna wear a hole in. Your mount will also keep the bhaf from flopping back and forth, working its way off the intake hose, which is will do very readily if you do like I did and sit it on the fender. A must for newbies reading this, is a 4" clamp or 4. 5" if theres such a clamp for the filter end of the intake hose. The oem 5" bottoms out and it can be tough to keep the neck of the bhaf tight and connected to the hose. I seemed to never have a problem with the nonIC'd hose but the IC'd hose likes to come loose, so one should inspect it time to time. But since I've ordered a ASA intake to attach to my bhaf, hopefully no more problems of the filter coming off.

Great job Kernal, simple stuff works well. Do you have any ideas for keeping the water ot where the fender and hood meet? I know some folks have made 'cool-ones' with diamond plate and such. I would like a $5. 00 (plus or minus a few cents) idea to keep the water out! Thanks, Patrick.

Glad you like it fellas, I am thinking of something to keep the water out, that's one reason I came up with something to get it up off the fender. If I can think of anything I will let you all know.

Hose? What hose... LOL

Bracket looks good. Simple and functional.

Bill- I wraped a few layers of electrical tape around the neck of the filter to allow me to tighten up the clamp. Hasn't worked loose.

If you're as much of a cheapskate as I am, and are not going to enter any truck shows, go to my readers rig gallery. I used metal duct tape and aluminum flashing to make a rain shield for my filter.

TMWeber, now thats a great idea, thanks. This is whats wonderful about TDR. Its always nice to have more than one set of eyes or minds when doing something, and here we have tons of people of whom to get info from etc. .
