I like the feature of the rubber gasket on the Hytec, but I really like the view port and magnets. What do you guys think?

Thanks

Mag Hytec gets my vote and got my $$. Put it on last fall and it has perfromed flawlessly. O ring, dip stick and a drain. Plus the cooling fins. What else do you need?

I have the Magview--both are very good--I like the fact that I could get a red one and the site window for checking level is great--I don't think you can go wrong with either one of these---chris

Hey Davison,

Doesn't the Mag-Hytec have a 1/8 NPT fitting for a sensor as well? Thought I read somewhere that it did. Help

David:

Since the unit had the fitting, I had to use it, right?

The probe and the gauge were under $50 together and now I can monitor the temp in the diff.

Got the triple pod pillar mount and installed it there.

Not exciting really. Under tow the #'s get up there, but flatten out, so all's well.

Mag Hytec said that their testing revealed that it was hotter at the top of the unit as vs down below in the fluid..... Thus the probe hole up top. I trust them, but that doesn't sound 100% with me..... But it's good enuf!

Mag-Hytec gets my vote. I liked the look better. Plus I figured if the level started to go down, the spot on my driveway would let me know. Plus the hytec has a magnet on the dipstick.

-Window?? I don need no stinking window!

My vote goes to Mag-Hytec. I suppose if I had the Magview I might like it too. I like being able to clean the "fuzz" off the magnet when I check the oil level. Are the magnets easy to clean on the Magview? When you first install these things they take a lot of fine metal out of the case. After a while it settles down but in the meantime it's easy to wipe off the dipstick to clean the magnet.

Mag-Hytec

Mag hytec gets my vote and here is the picture of it installed.

I was amazed when I was able to pour the fluid straight from the quart bottle into the dipstick hole with no "EZ Funnel"

Now holds 8 quarts of fluid.

I have the Mag-Hytec diff. cover as well... purchased it and a std. deep trans. pan the day I received my TDR issue introducing them. Awesome products! I did however replace my Mag-Hytec trans. pan... ... ... ... ... ..... with their new double deep trans. pan (or is it swimming pool?). :D

As stated earlier, the Mag-Hytec diff. covers come with a tapped (and plugged) 1/8-27 NPT port for installation of a temp. sender. Placing the temp. port at the top of the cover accomplishes two things, 1) the gear oil is hottest there as it has just exited the gear teeth and 2) it keeps the sender out of harms way.

I also really like the O-ring cover seal... mine hasn't leaked or weeped from day one! :)

Call me weird, but I'll offer to anyone who will listen that the Mag-Hytec trans. pan and differential covers are the best looking, highest-quality parts on my entire truck. Worth every penny, and then some.
