I have a 2006 Mega Cab and pull a 35ft fifth-wheel. Like many have said on this post the super glide is a good way to go as you don't have to worry about getting out and unlocking the slide. There are some concerns with the super glide hitch that can be easily addressed. Not addressing these concerns could possibly lead to your trailer separating from your truck! I would recommend the super glide hitch but make sure you read the post below for modifications:

Please respond to this attached post to bring it to the attention of other super glide users.

I would look at the towing and hauling forum. Then look at the "let's see your rig's" thread. There are several pic of Mega cabs with 5er and long beds quad cabs. As you can see there is room for both types of trucks. What matters is what you have already and what you want to pull with. I would just recommend that you pull with a Cummins.

I was lucky and found a used glide-rite hitch for a song. I do not have a megacab truck but have it in a quad cab short bed truck and have used it without problems

No problemos here. I have a slider, which helps, but the key for me was to mount my centerpoint 4" behind the center of the axle. I pull a 10,000 pounder and triple tow and I've never had any pulling issues with doing this. And I can reverse up to 85 degrees before I get too close.

Works for me. 4" behind axle.

Yea i will not be buying this truck to cut it apart but it already has the b&w hitch with the companion so i want to use it. If you extend the pin box would i get full rang of turning motion??????

rumors

Rumors are increasing about 2010 Megacab HD Rams with the long box.

If you can afford a new one and have time, I'd wait. With the incentives on

new Rams there may not be much of a price difference with used trucks.
