Just bought a plastic raised-relief map of the state of Colorado, pretty cool, always wanted one.
Anyway, the horizontal scale is
1" equals 20 miles
The vertical scale is 1/16" equals 1000', OR 1" equals 3 miles (1000'x16 divided by 5280 for miles)
1" equals 20 miles horizontal
1" equals 3 miles vertical
So, the mountains are (20/3) 6 and 2/3 times too short? Am I doing my math correctly? Maybe it was a typo, because the mountains look pretty scale...
