Map sensor

Hey guys. I was wondering if anybody can tell me about the map sensor on my 5.9. Anytime i really get on the gas, the engine light comes on. It is the code for the map sensor and says engine over boost. The truck is completely stock exept for an exhaust with a cat delete. After i drive with the engine light on for a couple days it ends up going away. Could the sensor be going bad?

Are you still running the factory air box? I have seen this issue before when running an aftermarket intake.

Yes it still has its factory air box. I am debating on purchasing an s and b aftermarket air box and filter for it.

Waste of money. Just get the 4" thick mopar HD filter element.

Possible it is map but it could also be abstuck wastegate.
