A couple of things I observed and missed in yesterdays posts...
Thank you to DrTrox who always is on hand and taking huge amounts of pictures which allows those who couldn't make it see what went on. I know Don works hard at it all day long and walks his tail off to get them and at times is overlooked. The extent of his coverage was shown to me when I drove Dockboy back to his house in Maryland. Greg said at one point he walked by Don's laptop which was running the pictures as he downloaded them and couldn't figure out when he took that shot,LOL. Just goes to show you Greg, they are watching you

:-laf :-laf .
Thanks to the owners who took the rest of the pictures and videos as I am not sure who all they were. Those who did take some need to contact me so we can copies of them all gathered up to be loaded on our clubs website. If you want PM me a email address and I will get back to you. I can tell you this from me,if it wasn't for the picture being taken I would never get to see the show at all.
Now for some quick notes about my views from the inside...
There were some owners who were first timers and Non-dieselbaord members at all. To listen to them ramble about how they liked the show and all of our trucks shows me the word is getting around some now. 2 of the newbie owners were dissappointed in their numbers but realized they need to step up their programs. When asked by me about why they were dissappointed all they did was say what we all already knew, the "Humbler" will show you what you really gained and not the hype the manufacturers claim.
The one which impressed me in stock form and confused me when a box was added was the "Catcher" ECMs. When Git-R-Done's truck was on the jet I was impressed in how fast it allows the stock 24 valve motors to pick up fuel and spool up. Little or no lag time was evident up front which is a common problem of those motors and Don's Catcher equipped ride came on early and held fairly well. Later when we ran one with a VA Box on DLeonhard's truck it didn't perform as well and actually made less power than the same fueling box and a stock ECM. They get that little glich worked out and us 12 valve guys could be in trouble as the improperly valved trucks will make the power come to them alot easier.
Its amazing to me how many owners have gotten the "stackitis" disease now and we under bed exhaust owners are becoming extinct. Our ol buddy Oasis-3 started that disease a few years ago and its spreading like wildfire. Myself,I still have this fear of cutting the big hole in the bed or I would do them,LOL. It was a good thing Cliff was off working hard as I am certain a few wives would have strung him up yesterday :-laf :-laf :-laf . BTW Cliff,I am supposed to tell you the club Beer Miester was missed greatly.
Dockboy...
Its was not a problem taking you home after your mishap. I was just glad I was able to help a fellow member out when they needed it most. Knowing how much you work on the truck and then riding home in a DODGE had to be hard and something I will not let you forget,LOL. If you need a hand with getting it repaired make sure you call. I'd gladly come down when you get the parts in and bring you back up to pick it up.
Spending the day with my old pal Shovelhead, who doesn't get out very often due to work conflicts, made my day. Ed has one of the sweetest looking 2wd duallys and works hard to keep it that way. Us bending each others ears all day in the dyno bay kept my mind of other things and I appreciated it. His help to John and Jim while cooking was appreciated by all of those who ate at lunch time.
Then you move on to the files of the unbelievable and see the Porters sweet 1998 Quad Cab Flame Red Sport SB 5spd 4x4. While most would look at it and think nothing out of the ordinary the truck actually is rather unique. Its build date was 11/97 and its equipped with a 24 valve motor and the 12 valve door badges. Thinking this is not right and bogus to me I chatted with Paul about it and will stick a post up in the 24 valve forums and see what comes of it. No changes were made to the truck after they purchased it,other than the engine mods/stacks,the outside and inside are as shipped from Ma Mopar and it was never wrecked. So the old saying or thought that the 24 valves motors were not installed until after Jan of 98 may be incorrect.
Time to do some things with my Daughter so I will look in later... ..... Andy
