max allowable towing from class xx hitch

I would like to know what is the maximum allowable weight that can be towed from the rear frame mount hitch? is class 5 the highest rating hitch? 16k?

a class 5 is the highest. Different makes have different weight ratings. Most are like 12,000 to 14,000# if you found a 16K then great. I see you have a dually 3500 so your truck would be able to handle like a 1400 to 1600 tongue weight with no problem so long as you use a WD hitch... .



If you are looking at a trailer that heavy, I would recomend to look at a WD hitch called Hensley. www.hensleymfg.com Expensive but worth it.
