BEWARE!! of Tourists Pulling RV's

Unless I missed another post Di just said that they were no longer the distributor, and that Max-Brake was looking for a new distributor. The Max-Brake website was down long before Dutch and Di quit selling them.

I also like my max brake controller.

But, in spite of what everyone says, the controller can not sense the surface of the road you are driving on.

I do need to make gain (not calibration), changes when I go from highway surface to gravel. When I go to mud or snow conditions I turn the gain to a very low level(20) to keep the trailer from locking up in very slippery conditions.

Yet, it is a great controller.

Does anyone know if the controller is the same for air or hyd brakes and just the sensor is different or the controller itself is different.
I'm asking because i found one for air. Thought i might get it and get the right sensor for hyd.

Sorry I missed your post. The controller is the same. You would need a hydraulic sensor for sure. You will also need a hydraulic tee and probably a different harness unless you were going to hardwire it. If you'd like to call me at 941-416-0918 10 am to 10 pm pacific time right now, I can go over your situation and let you know exactly what you would need. Di
ps Thanks Nigel!!!

Maybe not. It really is going to depend on what you need fixed/replaced or repaired. While I am no longer the online retailer for Max Brake I will continue to work with my {or any} Max Brake customers to take care of them any way I can. It is not the customers fault that they can no longer get in touch with MB.
If you will call me at 941-416-0918 10 am to 10 pm Mountain Time 7 days a week I will do what I can to take care of you. Hugs, Di

Well the Email for Maxbrake is DOA . So I guess we are on our own for repairs.:(

Thanks Di will call you tomorrow

I bought the MaxBrake controller from Dutch and Di a couple of years ago and never used it. Instead of buying a trailer, I ended up with a slide in camper so never had a use for it. I guess I should put it in the classifieds for sale. What are they worth now?

Hi Brian
Sorry you never got to use your MB. At the time I stopped selling them it was $359.95 shipped to US. You purchased your MB July of 2013 for your 2005 Dodge 3500. I really don't know what they would/could be selling for but putting it on the TDR is a good place to start.
When you do sell it, if they need a different tee or harness {for a Dodge or SOB} have them contact me and if I have any part they may need, I can sell them one. I do have a few parts left.
Good luck. Diana 941-416-0918 10 am to 10 p0m 7 days a week pacific time right now.
PS Since you are going to sell it, please be sure that you have everything that came in the original box, tees, sensors, harness, cable, etc.

I paid $225 for a used one two years ago... Here on TDR. $400 is over the top IMHO.

There should be a price difference between a new/never used or used Max Brake but they will bring what the someone who wants a MB is willing to pay. That said; If a customer paid $359.95 for a new one {which included shipping} and they decide to sell it, someone will have to pay to get it to them. If I remember right, the average cost of shipping via Priority Mail Insured or FedEx ran between $12.00 & $20.00 depending on where I had to ship it to.
I do feel it is between the seller & buyer to determine what is a fair cost. Hugs, Di
