I have also used this to get 1st gens through state mandated "snap test". They use - pump the go pedal then hold to the floor and then measure the opacity test at max. RPMS. The VE with a 3200 GSK starts to defuel between 3200 and 3300 RPMS so when you hold the pedal to the floor,at 3400 RPMS, your pump is defueling and smoke goes down. I've seen trucks in WA go from 40+ on the opacity meter down to 4 on the opacity meter with this little trick.
