Why? What quantifiable differences are you seeing? Did you dyno before and after with the same setup to be able to distinguish differences? If so what is the TQ and RPM chnages? I have run both the H2 and H3 cams and like them a lot! Haven't tried the maxspool so I can't give an opinion.
I actually lost spool time when the change was made from stock to Helix and now after installing the Max I have some of that back. Pull in the upper RPM range is much stonger than before. That and the fact that they aren't near as hard on the wallet really helps too.
How did you quantify this? SOP meter? How about dyno runs before and after where we can use a viewer to overlay runs..... There must have been an installation error with the Helix cam because my results were dramatically different. The power band was widened almost 500 RPM with both HP and TQ being lower in the RPM band, this shows spoolup to be increased.
some passionate personalities there. I did manage to learn something though. Looks like a cam might be better than a bigger turbo for my ETH. I would probably be happy with the performance of either the Helix or the Maxispool. So how to choose? New over reground sounds good to me. I'm very happy with the 2 sets of F1 injectors I've run & I think the world of my Banks Brake. I'll say this though, I got better customer service from Rip than I did from Banks. NOt that that's surprising. :-laf I think when the $$'s start burning holes in my pocket I'll give Rip a call.
I think both cams are OK myself. Both seem to have a rather polorized following. It also appears both makers will stand behind their products which is never a bad thing.
