Wow a great historical book on Cartridges...

even if the merger would happen, I dont think the Cummins will go anywhere. If anything, the "Dodge" truck would end up being thier Cab Chassis, HD pickup I would venture, and the Durimax would round out thier consumer pickups. It would only make sense. But, who knows.

I hope Chrysler comes to it senses and backs out of the talks. I'm not a fan of chevy. I did own a Buick Regal that I liked a lot.

Chrysler just needs to hang on until things pick up and start pushing the 6. 7.

Not to many people who by a truck for personal use need a 8 ft bed. I was at a Dodge dealer and saw only short beds quads, a couple of reg long beds. I would think you could order them though especially in 2500/3500 series.

Dan, a ST model 4x2 QC SWB 1500 with the MDS 5. 7 Hemi with standard options lists out ~26000. 00 and the 2500 ST 4x2 QC LWB ~29000. its 3 Grand more, yes, but since the 1500 only has a 6' bed its hard to know what the QC LWB would cost with a 8'. I would think that if you are in good standing with your local dealer, they could work out a better price on the truck you need in a 2500 variety since the 1/2 ton doesnt fit the mold to get the price of the 3/4 closer to what the 1/2 ton would be. Plus, with the MDS hemi, fuel mileage shouldnt be that bad compaired to other engine options available in the 1/2 ton line that are not there for the 3/4 tons. The 4. 7 is kinda weak for that heavy of a truck anyway, and the V6 is worthless.

Funny thing on the Dodge Megacab.

According to the Dodge truck brochure...

The 2008 Megacab 3500 4x4 with the cummins and 4:10 rear and Automatic had a trailer tow rating of around 16K with a GCVWR of 24K... OK... .

The EXACT SAME truck but Manual transmission,... . 23K GCVWR and 13K trailer rating... What gives?!!!

Why is a manual transmission 3K less rating than a manual?

OH, and if you look at payload capacity for the 2 trucks, EXACTLY the Same!!. . something fishy here
