Update
Well I did not get lost. I just haven't been near a computer at a time when I could get on line or a library was open. .
We have been up North in the Fairbanks and Chena area. Went to the Chena Hotsprings and fished the Chena River. Great Grayling fishing. Largest was 17. 5 inches. The locals tell me this is a really good size for this area. Most were in the 12-14 inch range though one was about 5 inches.
There are a lot of fires in Alaska this year. The third worst season on record for fires. It appears almost all are from lightning strikes.
Went to Denali National Park and wat a time. Bears, moose, caribou, more bears , moose, etc. Really too much to tell all in a short message.
Met our friend who is a park ranger there and she gave us the tour of the local area. Great time.
Made our way down to Anchorage and had some bad news. When in Fairbanks I saw the front tires cupping on the inside. Got to Anchorage and went to get a front en alignment. Guess what? Four ball joints and four days later, (a weekend was in there) we are back on the road. We had unloaded the camper for the alignment and now we have to reload and head out tomorrow.
Headed South to the lower reaches and the Russian River for some fishing as well as the Kenai and whatever else we can find. We will do lots of sightseeing also. Still lots of time left here.
Food is great and so are the people with one major exception but I will not go into that.
About all for now. Will update again when I can.
Matt, Great to hear from you in the last insert. I am glad you are okay after the bad storm. Vickie and I greatly enjoyed
spending time with you guys. Please be sure to look us up when you go back to the East coast.
Regards to all,
John and Vickie
