Hi All,
It's been a while since I've been on here but I've always found great information here and I was hoping some of you knowledgeable folks could help me out.
I purchased and am in the process of installing a MBRP 4" turbo back exhaust onto my 1993 W250 (4WD). Everything in the kit looks good and test fits well, EXCEPT for the downpipe. The flange on the new downpipe is much thinner than the original one I took off. The instructions say to use the old v-clamp that connects the turbo to the downpipe, well that clamp was designed for the thicker flange so with the new thinner flange on the MBRP downpipe there is a gap and play between the turbo flange and the downpipe flange no matter how tight you cinch the clamp down.
New downpipe and OEM turbo flange comparison
Original downpipe flange.
Original v-band clamp
Gap between turbo and downpipe with clamp full tightened
Has anyone had this problem? Or have a recommendation for a gasket/spacer or different clamp that would make it possible to tightly secure the new downpipe to the turbo?
Thanks,
Mona
