McKenzie Medallion- Anyone have one?

I was in Vegas last May with some friends, and went to look at some motor homes for fun. We had the salesman take us into their most expensive motor home. It was ok, pretty nice we all decided. Not worth $250,000 though. While there we saw some fifth wheels and decide to look at those as well. They were 34-foot triple-slide McKenzie Medallions. We climbed in and... ..... my jaw just dropped. HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!! That thing was ridiculously nice. Solid oak cabinets with brass handles, huge entertainment center, huge bedroom. And here I am, standing 6'4" with at least a foot between me and the ceiling fan. CEILING FAN???????? What the heck is a ceiling fan doing in a trailer? We are checking this thing out and the only thing that keeps coming out of our mouths is: ... ..... whoa... ... . wow..... cool... ... whoa. This thing cost about $55,000 and the motor home that was 250k wasn’t even close to this nice. With how nice this thing was and no one here ever mentioning one, I was wondering if any of you had one of these. If you do what do you think of it?

I own a 2001 Holiday Rambler. As you may or may not know Monaco owns Holiday Rambler and Mckensie. They are identical floorplans but have different interior and exterior color schemes. Also HR is built in Indiana and Mckensie is built here in Oregon. They are both well built 5ers. You wont go wrong buying one. Go to the Monaco website. They show all the flooplans plus a vertual view of the intereiors and a factory assembly tour.

As I understand it, HR will soon be built in OR as well. My choice for 5th wheel before I retire.

The ones we were in were the 34RLT. I had no idea that trailers that nice existed. I was really stunned when we went from the medallion back to the motor home. That quarter of a million looked bland and boring compared to the medallion. The only part of the trailer that I had to duck in was the bedroom. If I stood in the tallest part of the trailer, I could just barely tough the ceiling with the tip of my finger and still keep my heels on the floor. The motor home ceiling was only about one inch above my head. I hate feeling cramped. The only thing that would keep me from buying the Medallion (if I had 55 grand) would be the awful mileage when towing it. What mileage do you think that my truck would get pulling that thing down the highway at 65 or so? See my sig for details on my truck.

I have two friends with bumper pull McKenzie Medallions 31 footers and when you really look closely in all the cabinets, under the sink etc, they do not appear to be constructed very well. In fact my cheap Terry appears to be better construction. Look past the glitter! JMHO SNOKING

I don't know about the others, but I did look very closely at the cabinets in the ones we were looking at because I know about the manufacturers trying to cut weight were they can. They were SOLID OAK with solid brass handles. They were way nicer than the ones in my house! No kidding! They obviously weren't concerned with weight.

A lot of Trailers are using the ceiling fan now. We love ours in my WildWood. We use it for heating and cooling. Works very well. This is not a High Dollar 5th wheel.

I have a triple slide 34ft 5er. It is not the brand that you are talking about but it is the same size. My miliage while towing vary's from 13 down to about 10 mpg. Now I have never towed my trailer at 65, so if I could keep my foot out of that CTD I might be able to do a little bit better. Gunny
