Mega-Cab + 5er = ???

Anyone pulling a 5er with the new mega-cab?



Do you have to use a slider hitch? Some short beds you can get away with not having one. The reason I ask is because I have a $2500 'Air-Ride' hitch and love it. I don't want to give it up when I get a new truck.

The short box is 6'3" long. The distance from the rear axle to the cab is around 36". 1/2 the width of a 5th wheel trailer is 48". You can do the math.

We had a Fleetwood Wilderness 28. 5' 5er, that I never had to slide the hitch with. Then we got our 36' Carri-Lite and less than three hours after taking possession of it, had done 2k worth of damage to truck, and trailer. I now slide the hitch whenever I am maneuvering.
