have they said anything about a baseline price?

not a whisper, But I bet about $1000 higher than the Quad cab

And I expect them to limit supply to get demand up, (lets hope not)

Ok... Just ranting a little so nobody get too excited.

How is someone supposed to place an order when they don't know what the "official" GRVWs are for the megacab? I want a 3500 but 9900 ain't gonna cut it if it weights 7600 lbs empty (prelim. specs). When you order a current 3500 SRW it says what the GVRW is with the SRW option. Just another fine piece of Chrysler marketing in action.

ok, done ranting...

Preliminary specs show the Mega cab 3500 at 9900#, 2500 at 8800#

But this may be just a draft over from the 05 models, so until the trucks are here, I would not be for sure

Tomeygun - thanks for the post.

I know there are those that like 9900 for "legal" or title/plate reason. What Chrylser needs to do is make a $100 option for a sway bar (so something like that) that ups the GRVW to be competative with ford. Then people could have it both ways.

Are the HP and TQ figures staying the same as the '05's? Is there any clue as to a replacement for the 48re?

It's like DC gets close everytime but never really goes all the way. I see new features in there like the rear seat entertainment and the sunroof (supposedly availible in '05 too) but they need to get the GVW up, copy Fords integrated brake controller and they REALLY should have ponied up with a 4-door long box on a new length frame instead of the too big mega cab and too small cargo bed.

Since I have an '05 already I will be waiting to see if they can come closer to my needs in '07.

I'm glad to see they're bringing something else to market, but even if it was available I still would have got a quad cab. I was looking at extended cab Fords. I love my QC, but anything more than that is a LOT of truck.

I went to grab some tow mirrors for a customer yesterday and when the parts guy looked it up he asked me if I wanted the ones with turn signals. I didn't have time to ask much about it but I will see if we have any in stock Monday. I know none of our current trucks have this option. Maybe another new option for 06?

Hey Tom,

Why in the world would the Laramie 'H' package be required to order an exhaust brake?

-Tom

Your guess is as good mine, Keep in mind that this options does not mean that the truck come from the factory with a Brake, BUT our guys put it on here, and the brake come a few days later through the parts dept.

crazy

I'll bet it has something to do with the center dash layout (which is slightly different on the Laramie because of all the gizmos and widgets).

Cool thats good they finally might approve the e-brake... But lets see how long the trannys last. Maybe there is a connection between the e-brakes and dropping the 7/70 warranty! lol

The exhaust brake is available on both SLT and Laramie. Code 76L and 76K for auto and manual transmission! As to the availability I would imagine we should get more than 100 allocated to us on first go-round and will be slow to start because all new launches are slow due to new production glitches not to boost demand. My guess is we will see our first promo rigs in September with ordered rigs following in October. My fingers and toes are crossed! By the way, TOPS does not specify the brake as a dealer installed option.
