In 03 with a totally new truck they came out with quad cab smaller than Chev/Ford. Other than the small rear doors, the new 03 quad cab inside is not much bigger and better than my 96 Club Cab. If dodge had any brains, they would in 03 came out with a extra cab, single cab and full size quad cab the same size as the ford and chevy models. However, they didnt do that and now the cab they are making from what I read is going to be even way bigger than the ford/chevy one. Correct me if im wrong about that since i have not looked into this much. It seems like instead of building like everyone else they build at both extremes of the spectrum. If that is what DC is going to do good luck but nobody will buy your trucks. Other than the fleet aspect of sales going to ford/chevy, most people buy those because they have bad visions of Dodge or those trucks other trucks are marketed better. Plus they see then all over so they buy them. Just my take on it. But otherwise, Dodge your too late even if I wanted your new bathemoth, you couldnt give me the new Cummins 600 engine. Only 03 or 04 need apply

Saw the Mega Cab at the Chicago Auto Show. As my brother and father said, "Looks like it was stretched like a limo. " The rear pillar is way too big and wide.
I have an order in for 2500 Quad Cab, it's like waiting for Christmas. The wife and I fell-in-love with the interior space of my father-in-law's Power Puke. Wanted a crew-cab, but I knew the CTD was the best diesel. Have no regrets ordering the Quad Cab after seeing the Mega Cab. None!
Waiting patiently.

Problem is, the market for trucks is much different than just 15 years ago. My 1990 F150 had what amounted to a padded bust-stop bench with no headrests, vent windows in the front door glass, hard plastic trim all over the interior... vanity mirror? Yeah right. And that was a half-ton. A new Ram offers a stereo better than any my dad has ever had in a car, leather power seats, dual zone climate controls, child seat anchor points (and those are all available right up to one-ton 4x4 duallies), and now a reclining split bench rear seat with the Mega Cab. Pickups have replaced what many of us knew as the old-line full size family station wagon - big body-on-frame cars with V8s that can hold 6 adults and the occasional 4x8 planks of plywood, and tow a reasonable trailer. While Steve's front-page story doesn't mention it,because it doesn't offer the Cummins, there will be a 1500 Mega Cab with a GVWR of 8510. Dodge will probably sell about 60% of all Megas as 1500s because both the cab AND bed are bigger than the F150 SuperCrew. About 65 percent of all Rams are 1500s - that's who DC has to please to make money, not people who actually need a truck to work for a living. In effect, the 1500 Mega Cab/F150 SuperCrew/GM 1500 Crew is the "new" Country Squire wagon.CORed said:Man, I'm disappointed. I know it is mostly all subjective, other than the 8 foot bed issue, but I don't like the front and I think they went WAAAAY overboard on the size of the backseat. Bigger is not better. Seems they highly overweighted cab size and underweighted the priority of bed size. If they don't get their priorities re-arranged correctly in the next couple of years OR screw up even more by dumping the Cummins, I'll buy used as long as I can and then switch over to another brand. Not saying this won't sell, but from the feel of this thread, WE are the biggest fans of Dodge Cummins HD trucks out there, WE have the biggest pro-bias around... . and if a majority of US still do NOT like it, what does that say??
